Back when the economy was doing much, much better, I was the president of a technology firm in San Francisco. I retained a well known IP attorney in San Jose. He was very expensive. Two hardware manufacturers were letting their technicians to give our software (which cost $700/copy) to their clients. We contacted them, but they didn't stop the illegal copying.
