Anyone in L.A. knows that we spend 80% of our lives in cars. Long story, short, I had met an old friend and a potential client, after work, and got into my car to drive home. There was predictable 405 traffic, and my lane had slowed down to a halt. The guy behind me, who I could see flying towards me in my rear view, slammed into me, while my attempt to swerve away, failed. As to whose fault it was, wasn't the issue. The issue was I had consumed 3 beers and the police officer at the scene smelled alcohol on my breath. I was scared and had no choice but to take a breathalyzer test. I blew a .08 BAC. They confiscated my license. I was arrested. My car was towed home and I got to spend the night in a cold, crowded jail cell. That was probably the worst night of my life. As each hour passed, and nobody would tell me anything, I knew I had to get a lawyer and get the heck out of this room with one toilet and no sink and never come back. The following day, upon my release, I hired almost the first lawyer I found on line as I felt desperate and needed assurance. I was with them for only one week. The more I researched, I felt I had made the wrong choice. They didn't have a lot of experience dealing with L.A. county DUI's. My gut and my insomnia and my panic attacks told me to change lawyers. Two weeks later, after my first court date, I got a call from Hart informing me that my DUI charge was reduced to an Exhibition of Speed and I couldn't be happier and more grateful to Hart and his Team (Matthew and Jennifer). My verdict was even better than the wet reckless I had hoped for. I can sleep again. I only have to attend 10 AA meetings, pay the fine and obey the law. I am thrilled with Hart and honestly, it was the smartest money I've ever spent. His team is worth every single, red cent. I rarely post on yelp but felt the need after I hired this firm. Hart and his team were a godsend to me. I was humiliated when I was arrested and had looked around for help. I had terrible anxiety and panic about it and didn't really know how to find the right help. I had heard of Hart Levin from my family's attorney so I reached out for a consult. Great initial meeting, seemed sincere, upfront, caring, and most of all an expert. He didn't make promises to me. To be safe I got two more opinions with other firms, the H Lawfirm and No cuffs. Both made promises to me about getting my case dismissed and it didn't seem sincere. They were more used car salesman like. I called back for follow up questions and was handed off to an assistant who didn't seem to know when I needed to handle the dmv part of the case. So I called Hart back and gave him the go ahead. It was a really good decision. He kept me posted, was quick to respond (which is important to me) and never fed me any nonsense. The case resolved in my favor which I am so relieved about. On the court date I was notified that I didn't need to appear and got the punishment dropped down to a ticket, which saved me $2000 in fines and kept my record clean. I'm proud to say the criminal case was dismissed and my job is in tact. I couldn't imagine going through any other law office than Hart J Levin's. After drifting into four 4 cars and blowing a .13 I was scared and ashamed after a day of calling lawyers, hearing Heart's voice eased my pain.
