I was involved in two(!) rear end collisions and needed help. The first incident was a hit-and-run on the highway at 80mph, and the second incident was where I was hit by a semi-truck in the city. I must say with no exaggeration that M&Y Personal Injury Lawyers is the only practice you need to visit. I've already recommended this office to my family, friends, and coworkers because of how helpful and patient everyone has been with me. When I needed help or had questions, they always had the answers. The process from beginning to end is very simple and streamlined, which is good for someone like me who has never been in an auto accident. There are medical specialists for recommendation, I just chose the closest location that I could walk to. I worked with them for several months. Also I'm just recalling this as I write, but what was also invaluable as a service from M&Y was the managed communication to all the lawyers and adjusters, both on my side and the offending drivers. It would have been absolute pain had I had negotiated with the insurance and rental companies myself, because they definitely do respect attorneys more than they do the driver. I had an accident in a parking lot and hired another law firm to handle it. The case was settled after a few months. I hired this firm to handle the Under-insured part of my case. I told Steven Yamin I wanted this to be taken care of ASAP. Well, I did not hear from him for 6 months, apparently Steven had other things on his mind like planning his wedding which I wasn't told about. I had to threaten to get new representation for them to finally do their job and submit a demand letter. I was assigned a new lawyer soon after. My insurer made a low first offer and the new lawyer encouraged me to take it and was baffled that I was thinking about taking it to arbitration and showed zero desire to fight for me. I decided to accept it cause I had no confidence in him as he had shown zero interest in fighting for me. I asked for a detailed breakdown of the settlement which took nearly 1.5 months to receive. And when I finally got it, I was shocked at how little of the settlement I would receive: a little over $1k. I then realized they were trying to scam me. They were fraudulently trying to subtract 40% from the previous settlement that the other law firm got me which they had nothing to do with and no legal right to. When I pointed this out to them they played dumb. Hard to believe a law firm with 100+ years of experience would make such a blatant mistake in their favor that a non-lawyer like me caught in 5 minutes when it took them 1.5 months to review. When they finally re-did it with honesty this time, my settlement amount jumped to $5k. They even took 40% from my Med Pay which most lawyers will not. Yeah, they take 40% commission which is the highest I've ever seen since most charge 33.33% or even less. I will never hire this crooked firm ever again.
