Pros
1
Thorough and strategic litigation approach
“The trial brief submitted was concise and focused on the main issues necessary to prevail. It included the right supporting evidence to make our case (not too much and not too little).”
2
Strong courtroom presence and advocacy skills
“At trial, Amiel did a superb job of asking the best questions during cross examination to bring out testimony in support of our position.”
3
Excellent client communication and case management
“Amiel's judgment on what to include, (and not include) was dead on. Our case prevailed and everything Amiel predicted (and we prepared for) came true within a very strict budget for the case.”
4
Proven track record of successful outcomes
“I cannot speak highly enough of Amiel, not just because our case prevailed, but because I had never met him and received the kind of representation one would expect from a referral and/or family.”
5
Competent, ethical, and principled representation
“We really felt and trusted Mr. Wade had our best interest in mind and was an ethical and principled litigator.”

I contacted Wade Law Group for assistance with a small claims suit. I have worked with Brett and Dave McGraw, both have been dedicated, helpful, and have gone above and beyond to meet my expectations. Dave has provided effective legal advice and detailed explanations about the process as well as developed a plan for my hearing. Dave has gave me confidence in my abilities and quelled my anxiety. If I ever need representation or consultations again in the future, Wade Law Group will always be my first and only choice.

A leader, innovator and most importantly, a terrific lawyer. No one wants to need an attorney, but when you do need one, Amiel Wade is the one to call.

I hired Mr. Wade to expedite my divorce after being with an ill-prepared attorney for 1 1/2 years in which I didn't get past the discovery stage. I got quick results with Mr. Wade and my divorce was finalized after 4 months. His support staff quickly responded to all my emails and returned my calls. Mr. Wade is very experienced and knowledgeable and found an error in a filing by my ex-spouse's attorney and took immediate action on her behalf which saved me money and didn't prolong the divorce proceedings. He is involved in all the cases in his firm. Every Wednesday he conducts a meeting with his associate attorneys to consult and monitor their progress and provides them with his expert advice when necessary. Hopefully, I won't need Mr. Wade in the future but if I do, I would retain his services again because I was very pleased with his work and professionalism. Patricia Cent

I contacted the Wade Law Group in early 2020 for help in resolving an intractable business partnership dispute that had been ongoing since early 2017. After literally years of being stonewalled and taken advantage of by my now ex partners, Wade very professionally began collecting information to prepare a case and worked diligently to resolve my issues before ultimately filing litigation on my behalf. This was done efficiently and effectively and quickly lead to a very fair and reasonable settlement being reached over my dispute. Going forward, I would not hesitate to recommend the Wade Law Group to anyone in a similar situation and truly believe that they did an excellent job representing and defending my interests in what had up until contacting them seemed to be a completely unresolvable situation. Highly recommended.

On a peaceful day on September 20, 2018, my doorbell rang and I was served with a 155 page, five-million-dollar Federal lawsuit involving allegations of fraud, money laundering and RICO/racketeering. I was shocked, stunned, deeply saddened, and didn’t know what to do. My peaceful world was being turned upside down by this most unexpected event. All of a sudden, without any type of warning and within 21 days, I had to find someone qualified to represent me. Thankfully, as I tried to make sense of this catastrophe (and saying many prayers), I came across the Wade Law Group. I read the review of one his former clients, and decided to put my trust into contacting Amiel Wade and his team of legal assistants. As I explained the very strange and complicated situation of the lawsuit, I received support and assurances that they would do their best to assist me with legal representation. Fortunately, 13 months later, after many anguishing days of uncertainty and numerous hours, days, weeks and months of arduous work, Attorney Wade and his team were able to have the lawsuit dismissed! With deepest and sincerest gratitude, I would offer my highest recommendation of the Wade Law Group to anyone who may find themselves in such an unfortunate legal situation.

Joshua helped me to understand some of the rules and procedures around easements on private property and found some related official documents for my property which I had not been given as part of the purchase. This was very helpful.

Was looking for help with a private easement move....called around to a few attorneys and most were clueless to useless, with one advising that I should just move it and keep quiet. Josh took the time to hear me out, gave a clear plan for what needed to be done, got it done ahead of time and was able to make the change recorded with no issues at all. Overall a great experience.

I was referred to Mr. LoBue by family for a property tax lien dispute. We had a very complicated issue with the county of Santa Clara and Mr. LoBue was able to research the entire trail, contact several members of the county office, and provide a solid path to resolution. He executed on this with the perfect balance of professionalism and compassion for our situation. I felt confident with each conversation I had and he was able to make something gray as black and white as it could get. We would not have been able to obtain the answers without him.

  4. What is your approach to resolving cases like mine?
Learn about their strategy, whether they prefer negotiation, mediation, or litigation.
  5. What potential outcomes can I expect?
While no lawyer can guarantee results, they can provide an assessment of possible scenarios based on their experience.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Los Gatos, California?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
