I was referred to Andrew by Legal Shield. The initial call was great, and I sent him the file on my case. After review, we spoke again, and instead of taking the case on contingency, Andrew wanted to do a retainer with hourly plus contingency, which I agreed to, and even insisted on increasing the contingency percentage. I told him I could fund the retainer and start the case in about three weeks. At this point, his demeanor changed significantly, and it got awkward. He then told me to call him back when I was ready to start and that he wouldn't sent the agreement to be reviewed until then. Odd, but I agreed. I called him back sooner than originally forecast, 20 days later, ready to start the case and fund the retainer, but it went to voice mail. Over the next few days I left several voicemails and texts until I finally got a text reply that he wasn't interested in working with me. I said I was sorry to hear that, and asked why but did not receive a reply. I sent a follow-up asking for the reason, but still no reply. Very unprofessional; should have believed the other reviews.

From our first conversation, I knew right away Andy was going to have a positive impact on my case. He exceeded my expectations and I had little to worry about throughout the entire time leading up to and on my court date. He was professional, knowledgeable and assertive with every aspect of my family law matter. He was always available to answer any question I had and made me feel more at ease when I worried or was in doubt. I would recommend Andy to any parent that is looking to spend more time with their child and wants a fair amount of support to be ordered. Thank you Andy for all your efforts and for a successful outcome!

I spoke with Mr. Rosenfeld on Nov. 7, 2017. Our appointment was scheduled for 9 am which ended up being 9:17AM. Mr. Rosenfeld spoke with me on the phone for 10 minutes which was suppose to be a 30 minute conversation. In the middle of our conversation he cut me off and stated, "you know you seem to know what you seem to know, so I will just leave you with this you can pursue another lawyer have a nice day." And hung up the phone in the middle of our consultation.

After enduring a challenging and complex legal battle for years, and having worked with multiple attorneys to no avail, I finally found success with Jeremiah Raxter. His exceptional legal acumen and unique approach were evident from the start. Unlike others before him, Jeremiah brought innovative strategies and insights to the table, which were instrumental in resolving my case. Throughout the entire process, his dedication never wavered. He demonstrated remarkable consistency, always staying vigilant and proactive. His commitment not only led to the resolution of my case but also brought about several additional positive outcomes that exceeded my expectations. Jeremiah’s determination and expertise were truly the game changers in my legal journey. I am immensely grateful for his service and highly recommend him to anyone in need of a skilled and dedicated attorney. We were involved in a very contentious probate case as Legal Guardians. Our grandson is a child with significant special needs. His parents were unwilling to admit their son has disabilities, and insisted to court that we had made them up to try and limit parent visitations. The parents attempted to have our Guardianship revoked. Mr. Jeremiah Raxter did six things extraordinarily well for us: kept us on an even keel when we were reeling, gave rock solid legal advice that kept us on firm footing, did the research necessary for us to feel confident in front of the judge, was on top of it strategy-wise, helped us understand rationale for every step. Most importantly, Mr Raxter's strategy in the courtroom led to the parents agreeing to withdraw their petition to have the guardianship revoked. He then helped negotiate a deal for us with the parents' attorney to gradually increase visitations based on parents' participation in our grandson's treatment and in his education. We couldn't be happier!

I went to Raxter law to seek help with a probate because son was killed in a car accident. Mr. raxter helped me with the probate and then informed me that I could seek money from the other driver. His office then helped me with the wrongful death and we received more than I ever hoped for. I am in tears and very thankful. I would use Mr. raxter and Raxter law again.

We found Kris Crawford law firm by chance searching google for attorneys locate in our area. (Temecula, Murrieta and surrounding areas). After discussing our concerns, we decided to take a chance. We are glad we did because Kris’s office is very professional and explained the process every step of the way. What we really liked was the process of communicating things via email, which is important as we were unable to get to the office on several occasions. I would recommend Kris Crawford to a family member as well as a friend due to his professionalism. Kris Crawford’s firm is differently one to consider when looking for an attorney who will be professional and caring. Mr. Taylor

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Menifee, California?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
