I read all the reviews and he did exactly all to me as well he’s the worstest attorney I ever had and he doesn’t know how to do his job right I also caught COVID-19 he told me don’t worry you don’t have to go to court and guess what he calls me back on my court date asking why I didn’t show up since then I knew the type of person I was dealing with I honestly feel like he’s no good man sad to say do not hire. At first it was a B.S case now what he wants me to take a deal that was offered when I had no hired attorney now that’s B.S

I was involved in an accident and I carry a Commercial drivers license. My first court date I was not represented but offered a Reckless Driving with 2 points on my driving record from the Judge for resolution. I explained to her that I may seek professional legal help because that would be employment suicide for me take such a charge. I hired Mrs. McAllister for $3,000. He told me its a bullshit case and he will be able to take care of it. 2 years later he is telling me D.A. isn't going to budge his offer Is RECKLESS DRIVING, WITH 30 DAYS JAIL, 40 HOURS COMMUNITY SERVICE AND FEES OF COURSE. I payed him $3,000 just to add jail time and community service to it??? I argued to Mr. McAllister why would I accept that??? He began to give me an attitude and raise his voice with me." Well I wasn't there that day and nor was the D.A." is what he said. I told him no jail time, he said "ok I will talk to him one last time" I watched Mr. McAllister like a Hawk watches a rat. He never approached the D.A. called him to the side nothing. He waits 15-20 minutes after handling another client of his. He approaches me, brings me to the small discussion room and tells me. "The D.A. has paperwork saying your first court date they offered you 60 days jail and Reckless Driving with Community service. Im thinking Mrs. McAllister being my lawyer, why would he allow the D.A. have something that he doesn't and wont be able to contest? Besides that Mr. McAllister is a complete liar, not competitive and is tired of what he does for a living. Be careful hiring someone with that many years in there in a specific occupation, they tend to get lazy, and just don't care and seem to think they are the Judge. He is embarrassing looking. Does not groom well at all. I just cant believe he f***** me like this. Think twice before hiring him

Kirk is an amazing criminal defense lawyer, he has a brilliant mind and a vast knowledge of trial law. I was accused of a crime I didn't commit. I have never been in trouble, as a law abiding citizen I had no idea what to do or where to begin. I was given a referral by a friend and from the moment I sat across from Kirk McAllister I felt confident that I was in good hands. After more than a year of ridiculous and petty charges the District Attorney had no choice but to drop all charges. I know if I hadn't had Kirk on my side I would most likely still be playing a game of cat and mouse with the DA.

McAllister and firm have been life savers. I have needed their services many times over the past ten years and I have got nothing but informative answers to all my questions and a strong tactical defense team. In my opinion they are the greatest representation available in Modesto.

Hired for a DUI. After reviewing the case before payment layed out a inpressevie defense strategy. Once paid slow to return phone calls and stated the case was week and followed through with nothing he layed out before getting paid. Save your money and go wit the court appointed dump truck instead of the McAllisteddump truck.

Harry was referred to me by a few friends who were introduced to him through their business ventures. I do not like lawyers because they like to cause more problems then solve them. This wasn't the case with this guy. He may not have all the answers right away, but he gets you the answers. He does not come up with excuses but rather tells you, the client, your options. He helps you make an informed decision and the long term consequences of such action. He is very attentive and responsive. I emailed him at 3 in the morning, and he responded within a few minutes! I thought it would be bad when I get the bill for such a late email and quick response, but he didn't even charge me as he felt that he didn't render any legal services. He's a great person, and very personable and intelligent. He has a lot of experience and education under his belt but his very modest. This education and experience makes him my go to person for all my legal needs. He may not do a particular issue, but he has always given me direction on where I can go to get help. My recent needs required a family law attorney. Harry worked in Legal Aid and was familiar with Family Law and put me in contact with other experience professionals who were able to help. His reputation with his fellow attorneys speaks for itself. Talking to other friends who have used him for their legal needs, I think he is very unique person and gives the legal profession a different meaning. He is helpful, very pleasant, and overall a great person. Please keep up the good work Harry! Orange county needs more lawyers like you!

I rarely write responses or reviews unless I have something to say. Harry is a great person and an attorney that cares. He would get back to me in a prompt manner with the answers I needed. He didn't even charge me for little things as he said it wasn't fair to bill me. How many times do you have an attorney say that? This made him shine in my eyes. He cared about my money and understood this perspective of a client. He has earned my business and long term loyalty.

I nick named Jim "lightning" because his response time was so fast and also because he brings enlightenment to the situation. And when you reach the resolution you know "lightning has Struck". Jim is tuff but has the maturity to look for the win/win. My best endorsement is that I recommend him to clients.

My wife and I chose The Struck Firm to handle our wills recently, not only for their solid reputation, but also for the knowledge and professionalism Mr. Struck brought to the table. We knew he was the right choice after our first meeting. He answered every question we had and the end result was exactly what we were in search of. Legal verbage can be pretty intimidating at times and Jim made sure my wife and I knew exactly what everything meant. We felt the whole firm went the extra mile for us and really, what more could you ask?

Mr forkner is a very good attorney he's been helping me with my case I know he has a good reputation I have nothing but good things to say about him. But one of his securities is very rude and says things like she is an attorney and is 100% sure and when she is proven wrong she uses the "well I'm not an attorney" and she has been very rude every time I have talked to her she has no idea what me and forkner speak about and says things without knowing our strategy!

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Modesto, California?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
