Attorney Aja Mann, was my lawyer for 13 years. In those 13 years of representing me, she was outstanding! Not only did she advise me with wisdom and grace, she taught me that you must be fair and compassionate when it comes to difficult situations while co-parenting. Because of her I was able to obtain full custody of my son, and I thank her every day for in some form or fashion for bringing me joy and peace.

After visiting my son who lives out of state, I was deeply concerned by his emotional struggles and the difficulties he was facing at home with his mom. As a divorced parent living in another state, I felt powerless to advocate for him and feared I was failing as a father. My visitation rights and other arrangements had always been unfair, dictated by the terms of the other party. From our first conversation, Aja reassured me that I had parental rights and a voice in my son's well-being. My experience with Aja was awesome. She is very knowledgeable and prepped well. She knew right off the jump what made good evidence or not in my situation. Honestly, I wasn’t happy that she didn’t want to use some things I wanted to use as evidence. However, she turned out to be right in not using them. There were also moments where I I knew the other party was lying and I really wanted her to say something. But Aja knew what she doing and made things play out. In the end, it all paid off. Being in the court room so much and seeing other cases, I was grateful that I had her to represent me. I was also going through a lot of health issues and she was very patient and understanding with me and my situation. I would definitely recommend her for anyone’s case. Honestly, I hope to use her in the next month.

Nightmare Divorce: Unfair Billing and Negligence Leave Me in Financial Ruin I thought hiring this firm would make my divorce easier, but it turned into a financial nightmare. With just two homes and no children involved, I started with a $7,500 retainer. However, I ended up owing the firm a whopping $50,000. All I requested was temporary support, spousal support, and to keep my cat. But instead, I had to give up one of the homes due to excessive charges for every email and phone call, even if they couldn't reach me. To make matters worse, the firm neglected to include temporary support ($10,000) in the final settlement. They shifted the blame to me, claiming I overlooked the paperwork, even though I had signed those papers with my own attorney, who should have been responsible for ensuring the terms were correct. And let's not forget about my cat. Despite being my separate property with my name solely on the adoption papers, the firm couldn't even win custody. Yet they still billed me $4,000 just for discussing it. Thinking my ordeal was finally over, I received my checks from the firm with the assurance of no more bills. But to my dismay, they sent me an unexpected $400 bill and deducted it from my trust account without my permission. Enough is enough. I have decided to take action against Holstrom, Block & Parke, APLC. I will be filing a complaint with The State Bar of California for attorney misconduct. They must be held accountable for their negligence and financial exploitation. Don't let others fall victim to this firm's questionable practices. Beware and stay far away.
