Very few attorneys can command the kind of respect that Mr. Welbourn garners in the Court. As a young attorney with a burgeoning criminal defense practice, I am acutely aware of those who have been practicing in the same court room for decades before my start. Mr. Welbourn is not intimidating, cold or pretentious... characteristics that are all too familiar for most attorneys in the Southern California Courtroom. It is Mr. Welbourn's demonstrative humility that speaks to his abilities as a criminal defense litigator. Underneath that quiet, cool demeanor is a lion of a lawyer. I can say that about maybe three or four attorneys whom I have met during these past 2 years. If you find yourself in serious trouble, take it from an attorney who practices in the same field... this is your guy. I never allowed peoples reputations to precede them... because they always speak to the past... successful they may have been. Rather, every time Mr. Welbourn is standing or seated in the courtroom, every other colleague, Judge, Clerk knows it. When Mr. Welbourn speaks, people listen... Juries listen. If seriously unfortunate circumstances befall you, this is the call you need to make.

In 2008 I filed for divorce after 20 years of marriage. I only wished I had been referred to Paul Nelson back then, instead of any one of the four attorneys I left over the next 3 years. Not one of them cared about my case, or responed to any information I gave them. Within three days of my Judgment, my Ex stopped paying me. I turned to a friend who I met just before my divorce was final, and asked her to please give me the name of her lawyer. She had been quite happy with him and she got a good result. I met Paul Nelson. Paul has been nothing but a God send for my post-divorce work for the past four years, which is quite often. My Ex continues to stop paying support routinely, whick is challenging since I have a brain tumor, and don't need the additional stress. Paul had to help with everything that the "other lawyer" forgot to put in the Divorce Judgment, that I wouldn't even know to ask for, such as being taken off the mortgage on the house that I Quit Claimed to my Ex. Paul has exceeded my expectations at all times compared to any of the other lawyers I had. Paul has been nothing but kind, compassionate, and willing to do whatever it takes to make sure that I will get what I am entitled to now. I am always amazed that, at last, I like and ADMIRE a GREAT LAWYER. He is the most ethical and honest lawyer I have met in Orange County. Paul has been supportive and gone the extra mile many times for myself and for my friend that referred me to Paul. Please do yourselves a favor and read the reviews of divorced people. Don't hire a lawyer or law firm by name, or from a neighbor that "heard about someone". Divorce is very emotional and stressful and you should go through it with someone who cares about your life after your divorce and well being. You need a lawyer who will be there for you for the long haul, not pass you off to a "lawyer in learning". Hire someone who will care about You, be compassionate, understanding, and intelligent. Hire the lawyer who will get you everything you deserve and are entitled to. Hire the lawyer who will communicate with you personally. That lawyer in Orange County is Paul Nelson. I can count on Paul always, and I know he is there for me no matter what work I'll need in the future.

Paul is extremely caring and wants the best for me and my children, After working in OC for years Paul knows the procedures the court's staff and most all the Judges and attorney's.. This is especially helpful when preparing for his appearances. He is especially knowledgeable with Family Law and does an excellent job making sure my rights are protected. I have not observed any other attorney stand up the same way Paul does.

Using Paul Nelson for my divorce was the best decision I made in the entire process. He is knowledgeable, tough, and does not back down. I first noticed Paul while at court for another matter. I liked the way he approached the judge and did not back down. He was considerate, but firm and backed by knowledge of the law that applied. Because of that, I followed him out of the courtroom and got his card. Divorce is terrible, but working with Paul helped me to achieve good results.

I absolutely love working with Paul and his associate Nicole. Nicole has spent hours working on my case and her attention to detail is amazing. She wrote my orders to show cause in such a professional manner, while getting all the important legal details across. She knows the law and it shows. When I saw the declaration that the opposing attorney wrote in comparison to Nicole's it was almost laughable. She is also very aware of dates that things are due, and on top of what is going on in your case. Paul is just awesome. If you were unfortunately married to a overbearing narcissist like I was, Paul will know just how to handle him in court. Paul is superb in the courtroom. He knows the law, and he knows what information is important to present. He doesn't get emotional and stays focused on getting the truth to come out. He is able to keep the mood light during a horrible process with his witty comments and comfortable demeanor. I also feel very secure in the courtroom because I know he has my back and he doesn't let opposing counsel badger me, which she repeatedly tries to do. Both Paul and Nicole are excellent at returning phone calls and emails, even if I just have a minor question. Hiring this firm was the best decision I could have made during this process.
