A wonderful law firm that provides comprehensive legal planning for families. Friendly, insightful, helpful, and extraordinarily knowledgeable in this area of law. The lawyers really listen, and think outside the box beyond typical estate planning attorneys. They don't have a cookie-cutter approach. They help to think about real estate, tax, and long term care issues, and their fees are very reasonable.

Everyone was very nice and responsive but low scores in our experience, customizing documents and general billing. 1) Very high fees but then still nickel and dime on top of it was what we felt. 2) We think that the customization of documents from templates could have been much greater for the $10k in fees. 3) We took notes during meetings but still billed high attorney rates just for note taking on top of the hourly consultation fees because they also chose to take notes....

Excellent explanations of options for updates to Trusts, Wills, Durable Power of Attorney and Advanced Health Directives. Helped with changes in property ownership registry to maximize tax savings for years to come.

We recently did a trust and pour-over will with Gilfix & La Poll and the process couldn’t have been better. My wife was pregnant with our second child, and we realized that we really, really needed to have a plan for both the unexpected and the inevitable. We’d been planning to do it for years, but the second baby made us realize that we couldn’t put it off any longer. There seemed to be an overwhelming number of things to consider when planning for the future, but the great lawyers at Gilfix & LaPoll really made it all so easy for us. Mark, in particular, patiently spent time with us walking through all our wishes for childcare, health directives, trust disbursement, administration, etc. We had a ton of questions (you don’t know what you don’t know in this area), and he was always available to answer them. He went beyond the basics and we talked about asset protection and other tools I didn’t even know existed. In the end, the process was painless and quick, and we have so much more peace of mind just knowing that our family will be taken care of when we’re no longer around.
