Pros
1
Effective and powerful advocate who clearly explains legal options and processes
“Fritzie is a powerful and effective advocate. Working with her was a pleasure because of the clear way that she explained legal options and the processes involved.”
2
Provides excellent advice and negotiates desired outcomes
“Her advice on my divorce and MSA (marriage settlement agreement) was excellent, and she negotiated exactly the outcome I had hoped for.”
3
Acknowledges her limits and consults colleagues on specialized areas
“What is important about F. Galliani is that she does acknowledge her limits. She does research on areas that are more specialized and not her forte. She does consult other colleagues on matters that are in gray zone.”
Cons
1
Unprofessional conduct, such as divulging confidential information and failing to respond to motions
“Instead of helping me and protecting me, she did quite the opposite. She divulged confidential information to the opponent and charged ridiculously for work she didn't do completely and for work that was done wrong, requiring me to seek services elsewhere to fix her mistakes. She even went as far as to not respond to opponent's motions, thereby the other side getting default against me-that's malpractice.”
2
Disorganization, such as repeatedly asking the same questions and missing appointments/deadlines
“She was not very organized and asked the same questions multiple times and billed me for it. Certain required legal documents were not completed on a timely basis and therefore could no longer be used but I was still billed for her time. I often had to email her office for a status or an invoice.”
3
Frequently unavailable due to vacations or being out of the office
“She's always on vacation or out of the office.”

I hired Galliani law on a referral for a child us today case. I felt the meeting were repetitive and unnecessary. My case involved LGBTQ+ matter, although the firm stated they had experience with such matters, I believe they had only had a handful cases (say 1 or 2). Missed appointments, missed deadlines and creative billing.

Im very surprised as to Fritzie Galliani having bad reviews. Although, Every one is entitled to their own opionion...i feel and have seen what an amazing job she can do. I hired Fritzie about 3 months ago and from the beginning, she made me feel comfortable. I was going through custody and wanted supervised visiation due to the father of my two small toddlers being an alcoholic and irresposible parent. Going to court and filing paperwork when you have no clue as to what to do can be quite difficult and time consuming considering i am not knowledgable of family law whatsover. I filed my own paperwork but i was missing alot of documents, and i had to keep going back. Frustrated and missing many days at work, i had to seek help, and a co-worker of mine recommended i contact fritzie. She re-filed all my paperwork, wrote up a judment, helped me set up a visitation schedule, was fair in having the father involved but with limitation for the reason that i was/am very concerned for the safety of my children. She won my case and i thought that was the end of it. A month or two passed by and i received no confirmation as to the status of child support. Being a mother of two toddlers and providing alone with no help at all, i felt hopless and i didnt know what else to do. Fritzie took it upon herself to call the employer and follow up. The employer was REFUSING to honor the order for various reasons that were completely irrelevant and the staff was clueless and extremely rude. They were stating it was an invalid order. Their staff was being ignorant and uncooperative and kept hanging up on her. Fritzie was assertive and persistant in getting to the bottom of this and getting her point accross in a professional matter. She finally got a hold of the Vice president of regulatory affairs and settled all of this. Of course after going back and forth with this person in charge, and Fritzie warning them that if they do not comply, they would be faced with legal consequences and will pursue this further to the courts, they finally honored it within the next day. This Company should be embarrassed as to how their employees present themselves. Especially handling payroll. It is scary because this is a worldwide company and they have people like these ignorant people working for them. I honestly am thankful for fritzie. She does her job EXTREMELY well in a prefessional matter. On a personal level, she's a very sweet and caring woman and had the best interest for my kids. I appreciate her hard work and dedication. Even after evertyhing was settled, she follows up with me to see how everything is going. i would've still been fighting this on my own or even worse. I Highly recommend her!

Making a judgment on a lawyer can be subjective and personal. The context of situation is also important. It is not possible to assume a lawyer to know everything, even within the area of family law. It is simply too much to know. I am surprised to see that F. Galliani has received 3 poor reviews before my writing. One must wonder if these were selected group of disgruntled clients with bad outcome. Any opposing parthy can also easily put in a faked review to hurt the lawyer of interest. One also must wonder why a few other lawyers has >30 almost always perfect reviews as it appears to be fabricated. Please read these reviews with caution. I myself is a physician and go through a high conflict divorce. My circumstance has been rather extreme with my estranged wife putting me in jail with false domestic violence allegation. I am at risk of losing my medical license. I hired a lawyer with near perfect AVVO rating and nearly perfect review with > 30 reviewers. This lawyer did not do much and rather difficult to reach him when I am in crisis. He did not timely serve documents nor respond emails. I reluctantly substituted him with F. Galliani. Yes. He kept all of my money without refunding the remaining retainer. I used my professional judgement to pick F. Galliani after a lengthy conversation. It turns out to be more accurate. She is very realistic and proceed with caution. Yes. She is not perfect. She is sometimes disorganized and does not remember all of info. I want her to remember. But what do you expect in a busy law practice? I could not remember every detail on every patient's medical info in my busy practice and often kindly asked the patient to refresh my memory. But I must testify that I put more trust in a busy, but less organized lawyer than a lawyer, who is not busy and has all the time for you. F. Galliani is skillful and insightful. She makes time for me, but she will also let me know when she is busy and not accessible. I am realistic and work well with her as a team. What is the outcome so far? I got my false domestic violence allegation completely dismissed. Despite that my wife fought hard by leveraging restraining order and false domestic violence allegation, I won back 22% of my kid's custody and on my way to 50%. Now we are fighting on asset that my wife has used undue leverage with result still pending. What is important about F. Galliani is that she does acknowledge her limits. She does research on areas that are more specialized and not her forte. She does consult other colleagues on matters that are in gray zone. A good professional is to know his or her limit and acknowledges the risk exposure of situation and weakness of any facts. She is as such. F. Galliani is a superb criminal and family lawyer for me. I have worked with her for a long case of 8 months and still going. My wife is on 4th family lawyer and gradually losing. I hope that you can make judgment about F Galliani based on a lengthy legal matter rather on others with short legal encounter. I wish best luck on readers of my review.

I hired Ms. Galliani to represent me in a divorce. She was not very organized and asked the same questions multiple times and billed me for it. She provided a reference to a company to perform an asset search and the company took my money and did not perform a national asset search as they stated. She suggested I take them to small claims court. Certain required legal documents were not completed on a timely basis and therefore could no longer be used but I was still billed for her time. I often had to email her office for a status or an invoice. In a number of instance she was out for personal reasons or headed for extended vacations. I felt that should could of done a better job of handling my legal matters prior to her trips. After a year I retained a new lawyer. I would not recommend this attorney.

My wife and I are in our mid-forties and decided it was time to create a living will and trust. We researched a few options and attended two seminars to understand the scope of what we needed to know. Unfortunately, the attorneys running the seminars seemed to be more focused on volume rather than the quality of their service. So when a close friend referred us to Adam a few days later, I wasn’t tripping over myself to speak to another attorney, but I’m so glad I did. From the first phone call, I knew Adam would be able to help us. He was a great listener and very patient. We truly felt that Adam was completely focused on our needs and helped us craft a will and trust that was exactly what we wanted. He was easily available by phone and responded very quickly to emails as well. Adam Aparicio was an excellent choice for our will and estate planning and I would highly recommend him to anyone.

I seriously goofed up a property transfer which resulted in the reassessment of the property taxes of my home. I literally went from paying $1500 a year to nearly $5000! Despite me missing several deadlines, Mr. Aparicio was able to secure a roll back of my tax value on my property when I thought all hope was lost. He was very generous with his time and didn't nickel and dime me for every call. He has a certain way about him, its very calming, and its nice to have someone do what they say they're going to do.

I'm not one for writing reviews, but my experience with Adam Aparicio Law Offices prompted me to spread the word. Finding a good lawyer is a daunting task, scarier than finding a good mechanic, or dealership, or dentist, or sushi restaurant. Your life is literally in this persons hands. I can't believe the Law Gods smiled on me when they dropped Mr. Aparicio into my lap. I was talking to a good friend about my problem with an insurance company. I had signed some documents without really understanding all of the fine print. I made a grave mistake and trusted the insurance agent when she explained what everything in the documents meant. Little did I know, that she had failed to mention some pretty important clauses that were to my great disadvantage. I spent sleepless nights once I realized my mistake. The mistake had cost me in the thousands of dollars, and in this economic climate, it was heartbreaking. My friend mentioned he knew of a good lawyer and this is where Mr. Aparicio came in. I was reluctant to call his offices at first, I was feeling apprehensive in trusting anyone, since I had been let down by my own insurance company just previously. I had that same fear people have when trying to choose a good doctor. You want the best. But my mind was put at ease once I walked in. His staff was courteous, his office intimate, and his handshake firm. I felt comfortable with him right away. I was highly impressed by his initiative. He read my documents thoroughly, he answered my questions, he brought his staff together and they started on a plan of attack. Things were getting done right away and I felt at ease about it. I felt confident about having good people behind me. Adam and his staff were there for me every step of the away. They were always a phone call away. Even after they were able to get the contract retracted and annulled. They still called to make sure that I was happy and satisfied with the results. Was I happy? My lord! They saved me thousands of dollars and they still call to ask if I'm satisfied? Wow! They don't make lawyers like this anymore. I highly recommend Adam Aparicio Law Offices. It feels good to know that If I ever have legal problems again, I have no problem knowing who to turn too. I just want to give a big thanks to Adam Aparicio and his staff. It was a magnificent honor knowing you were all on my side.

There is a reason HLF specializes in Employment Law. While avoiding specifics I will say this Team of legal professionals set the standard very high. From the moment I used their website to submit my inquiry to present day I never felt anything but educated, cared about, and professionally guided through the scary waters of my specific case. I sought justice and Alex (and his wonderful Team) helped me get it. I feel like I had a voice now and that I have been properly compensated. Towards the end and several times during this experience I was flustered and bewildered. I was worried they would think I was stupid or annoying for asking so many questions, especially after what I had been though.... My self esteem was not very good at that time. But every email was answered with patience and kindness. Now I feel victorious and I am ready to make the world my oyster again. Thank you so much for everything!

I was referred to Eugene Kim by another lawyer. I must have contacted 8 or more lawyers (email or phone), and was wrapping up when i emailed and then spoke to Eugene. He really makes sure he understands your case, and tells you whether you have one or not. He is knowledgeable and experienced with business law, where some others are not. Eugene qualified my claim without wasting time and money. His courtroom experience is very valuable. He is a very good lawyer and businessman. None of the other lawyers came close to his skill-set. I am sure he has a very successful practice with many referrals. You will be very happy after speaking with Eugene Kim.

Awesome attorney, helped me evict a tenant that hired Basta, a tenants rights defense law group. Without Eugene, I never would have been able to get my tenants out of the house without paying them.

Eugene was a big help with my demand letter, walking me through the steps to file a small claims landlord-tenant case, and also in getting me prepared for my day in court. He was very thorough and really helped me to get a good grasp on my evidence and how to best prepare for the case. The judge was very impressed with how organized I was and judgement was in my favor.

Understand the fee structure, including hourly rates, flat fees, retainer fees, and any additional expenses.
  3. Who will be handling my case?

  4. What is your approach to resolving cases like mine?
Learn about their strategy, whether they prefer negotiation, mediation, or litigation.
  5. What potential outcomes can I expect?
While no lawyer can guarantee results, they can provide an assessment of possible scenarios based on their experience.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Pasadena, California?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
