Kept second guessing myself when I considered switching attorneys but it turned out to be the best decision I made. The case manager at the first law office I hired was never available and even when he was he would tell me there were no updates. After 4 months of getting no where I called around and found Krasney Law. They ended up settling my case within 3 months!!

Contacted other law firms and they answered some of my questions but made me feel like I was being pushed to just hurry up and "sign up". I reached out to Krasney Law and my case manager was so patient, and answered all my questions and never once made me feel like I was obligated to hire them. Ultimately glad I went with them in the long run as the process was quick, easy and best of all stress free for me.

It is hard to find dependable legal counsel, finding it while living abroad is even harder. I was fortunate to find Attorney John Lueck. Mr. Lueck, diligent and effectively, took care of my 17-year-old DUI/Warrant case, and handle it swiftly and painless. His help on this matter makes a big difference, not only to me but to my family, as we can now plan to go living to the US again.

Mr lueck is a great lawyer. He helped me with my criminal misdemeanor case and got it dismissed. He is the right man for the job if you want to win your case or get it dismissed

Mr. Lueck and his assistant Gabby are very friendly and helpful. Mr. Lueck did a really great job at helping me fight for more time with my daughter in the custody battle with the mother of my child. We won more time and continue to fight for more. Mr. Lueck and Gabby have been available for any questions I have had. I highly recommend Mr. Lueck as an attorney.

Going to court can be VERY stressful! Art Burga at Burga Law Firm eases that stress. It's hard to find a lawyer that will keep you updated on your case on a regular basis. He is a lawyer that answers, and returns, phone calls promptly (even with his busy schedule). He has represented me in both Los Angeles and San Bernardino County. And from my understanding, he does work in San Francisco and out of state as well. So don't let location be a factor in choosing a lawyer. I usually only Yelp if it's a great service or bad service (or product). I guess it has to stand out in order for me to take the time to yelp. Take it from a satisfied client. Choose Art Burga for your Family Law cases. (Oh yeah, I have also used him for a name change... I'm sure he does much more beyond family law and name changes, so call and find out)

Attorney Burga is helpful, kind, knowledgeable, and able to get the job done. He recently helped me with my case. Any and all questions I had, he was able to answer on the spot. He was easily accessible to me, and I was able to contact him at various times with my questions. He was always welcoming and provided quick responses to phone calls, emails, etc. I was very nervous upon going into my case, but Attorney Burga answered all my questions and made me feel comfortable and secure in my decisions. The court process went smoothly and I was granted everything I asked for. I would recommend Attorney Burga to anyone who is looking for legal assistance. I know you will not be disappointed! Thank you, Attorney Burga!

Besides getting my divorce, Ms. Main was by far the best decision I could have made when it came to hiring the right person to represent me and my case. I had no idea how emotionally fragile this divorce would make me. However, Ms. Main was a constant and invaluable strength to me. Thank you, Ms. Main, for all your hard work and not giving up on my case when the other party continued to play foolish games. You are truly a blessing and I would absolutely recommend you to anyone who has to go through the unfortunate experience of having to deal with a situation that calls for a professional in family law. You and your team are amazing and you DO NOT let down.

I retained Ms. Main about 6 months into my existing case after firing my first attorney. I was terrified and scared and discouraged because of my previous experience with the court system. My previous attorney dropped the ball and Ms. Main came into the picture and had to clean up his mess. From day one, she remembered every detail of my case and I was 100% confident in her court room appearance as well as all of the paper work that her office filed. She always put my son’s best interest ahead of anything else. She is truly ethical and was so professional in the court room even when the judge and opposong council left me with a sour taste in my mouth. She never stooped to their level and always stayed professional and fought for what was right! She is extremely knowledgeable and is “the smartest person in the room” (inside joke). Opposing council was a loud mouth and should actually be a criminal defense attorney, not a family law attorney. It’s actually disgusting how horrible other attorneys can be. HOWEVER, Rebekah is someone you want on your team. Child custody is heart breaking and gut wrenching. It’s expensive (however she is fairly priced and doesn’t charge above and beyond like most). After over two years from my initial hearing, my case finally was resolved and I am so grateful that I can now put the nightmare behind me. Let me add, it was opposing who consistently dragged out our case, not Rebekah. She wanted resolution as much as I did. She is extremely valuable and as far as I’m concerned one of the best attorneys I have ever known. Her staff is also awesome! I felt like they knew me on a personal level, I never felt like a business transaction. I am telling you now, if you are searching for a child custody attorney, do not waste your time looking elsewhere, hire Ms. Main. You won’t regret it. If I could give her 100 stars I would. THANK YOU for your honesty and integrity!

Rebekah was truly professional, ethical and humane in her approach. She truly cared for my children, as she advised me on various aspects of a legal situation. I got to know a great lawyer without having to go through the heartbreaking process. Life got a little lucky there! And even though I made unconventional decisions, Rebekah made me aware of the pros and cons without vested interest. I would definitely recommend her.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Rancho Cucamonga, California?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
