If you want your immigration case to be screwed and get deported from USA, you hire her. She has no clue about the immigration laws and she will charge you 4 times more than other attorney. All she care is to get your money in cash. She is absolutely useless. A Akbary

She did an amazing job preparing a complete package for uscis so i could obtain my Permament Residence. The entire process took only 2 1/2 months from start to finish. The interview went very smooth because she had already sent all documents and evidence needed prior to my appointment. GREAT LAWYER!

Before writing this review there is a question "Would you recommend this lawyer? Yes or No." What was missing in the case was the option to click "In a heartbeat" because this is what I thought when I was answering that question, "I would recommend Raihana in a heartbeat." I never thought I would be filing BK (yeah, by the end of this you are just saying BK and not bankruptcy). In general, sorry Raihana, I have a pretty deep distrust of lawyers and have always wanted to stay as far away from courtrooms as possible, but Raihana was recommended by a friend I trust a lot. After meeting with Raihana for a consultation I realized that BK was the only way to protect myself after a series of unfortunate and just plain bad financial decisions. I was nervous though. Over the next few months Raihana always went out of her way to explain things and assuage my fears. When we finally made it to the hearing with the trustee, there were some things that I didn't really disclose properly about a joint account I had, not because I was trying to hide anything, but because I just had in my mind that I didn't have to disclose that to Raihana or the court. Well, it made for a lot of work after the fact because now the trustee wanted signature cards, past statements etc. Raihana said not to worry that we just had to present it to the trustee properly and everything would be fine. Raihana met with me at the bank twice and very professionally handled it all. She also wrote the bank manager a recommendation for the Senior Officer that helped us. She took the time to make sure everything was perfect and presented it to the trustee. She did such a good job the trustee took the next hearing off of the calendar (three weeks ago). And this morning I received a copy of the email from the trustee saying it's all good, but here is a clip from it that I was very glad to read: "having been appointed trustee of the estate of the above-named debtor(s), report that I have neither received any property nor paid any money on account of this estate; that I have made a diligent inquiry into the financial affairs of the debtor(s) and the location of the property belonging to the estate; and that there is no property available for distribution from the estate over and above that exempted by law." I know this is a long review, but it was really hard for me to go down this road. I feel that Raihana was really a godsend. As I wait for the discharge, I am comfortable that my case has been presented in an excellent and competent manner. So if I had to do it again, I would choose Raihana in a heartbeat. One last thing, in the Trustee hearing I saw a lot of clients with their attorneys. You could tell most of them were there 'working' and some were almost rude in the treatment of their client. I felt like I was sitting there not just with my attorney, but someone who actually cared about me and not just my case. I think that's pretty hard to find, but don't think she's a softie, I saw her be as tough as nails getting the bank to write letters and do research to answer the trustees questions.

She was able to show that we we're truthfull & forced the other side to fix all their mistakes. First and foremost Samantha is so amazing. My sons mom relapseed on prescription meds. She was and is in complete denial to this day. We were never married. We opened the case June 9th of 2022. It took several court dates. Samantha has walked me through domestic violence, restraining orders, ex parte, three different Child custody investigations and Trail. When this all started we were 50/50 custody. At that time I had child support which I payed close to 1300.00 a month. Roughly a year later we went back into court because my sons mom was saying she was going to kill her self and that she was going to take are son with her! We head back to court roughly two days later. I received temporary full custody and she got supervised visits 3 times a week. Today is June 22, 2024 I Now have been to trail and i received full custody have are son. Are son is able to see mom three times a week that's if she show up to the facility. Samantha is incredibly fare when it comes to only stating facts and show prove to back it up is ideal. Her paper work is very very intense and is probably one of best at it as far as im concerned. Her communcation skills are very very good. If I asked a question generally within a few hours I got a clear answer. When we would have a court date I had sometimes lots of work to do on end. Looking for bank statements etc. Was not that hard because she kept me organized and she is very organized. She even had dead lines for me. I had so many things happening every week with my ex she pushed me to write in a journal. I do it to the day still which is extremely important. I was never once promised that something would happen in court. I was giving the worst out come and best outcome going into court every time. I personally got the best every time. I would never think about calling a different lawyer. I felt so comfortable with her that I had my moments and would cry. I no longer see Samantha as my lawyer I see Samantha as good friend. Not really sure what I would have done out her on my side of the street. You cannot go wrong with Samantha she is the best in Orange County. Take her advice and do what she says to do even if you don't want to. Im forever grateful. Kevin

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Rancho Santa Margarita, California?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
