I met janette Do not Brody do a friend that referred me to her. I'll call you when the alarm rings started working on it immediately. It was a child's support case and started working on it. She got things done with dinner appropriate time and I was able to pay the child support case and lore the amount that they wanted. I was very happy with her.

I am currently going through the hardest time in my life, I never thought that I would be facing the uphill battles I currently am and I never thought that someone I hardly knew could care so much about not only helping me in the courtroom but also in my personal life. Jeanette defines compassion and strives to achieve a certain set of results within her clients cases. She is truly someone that I thank God for putting in my life and I don’t put that lightly. I read a review once for an attorney that said something really corny like “if he grew a beard I would call him Jesus Christ!”, well let me say, I met that attorney that person wrote the review about and I would sooner call him Satan. My point is this, Jeanette is not an attorney that will give you fake promises and results or slouch at all when it comes to your case, she’s as passionate and hardworking as it gets. She’s someone I will always call on anytime there’s a legal matter I need help with, she’s someone that I’ve also genuinely grown a friendship with and because of her involvement in my life, I know with certainty that my children and I will be ok.

I hired Ms. Broady more than once and ever since I met her she has helped me change my life one step at a time. Being held in front of a judge is something a lot of us never expect to be. But hear me when I tell you that your time and money is valuable when hiring Broady. Do as she says and she will get you the results that you need. She is just magical all over. Thank you Ms. Broady!

Ms. Broady is a diamond in the rough when it comes to lawyers. What makes her stand out can be summed up as “She Cares”. She is not a lawyer that will just take your money and push legal paperwork and let the cogs of the legal system determine the outcome. She really wants to understand every element of a case and determine the best strategy to get a result and help stabilize her clients. You would think all lawyers take the extra steps to get the results, but it took me 3 lawyers before I found one that really wanted to help and get results instead of just take money to prep papers and let justice figure it out. If you want someone who is result oriented, I could not recommend her enough.

The representation was excellent and cost reasonable. I hired Ms. Broady In March 2018. I’ve been going through custody battles for years concerning false allegations repeatedly filed by the father just because he didn’t want to pay child support. I initially thought I would try to resolve this in the best way possible, without legal representation, because I was a single mother at the time. I quickly discovered that was not the case and contacted Ms. Broady. She clearly described the expectations and the choices available to me. She was always available to me, and when I called, if she couldn't talk with me at that time, she would quickly get back to me. Ms. Broady always kept me fully aware of how the case was proceeding. Her fees were stipulated up front, as well as what those fees covered and what they did not. She really cares about her client and gives her all into a case. Thanks to Ms. Broady I am stress free and I received the outcome I was looking for.

Tony Scott is everything you want in an attorney. He's always available to provide updates and answers, provides honest advice you can trust, and most importantly delivers favorable results. Tony supported me for a DMV hearing to determine a license suspension and against the odds, was able to avoid a suspension. He communicated a logical defense supported with diagrams, recommended an expert witness to strengthen my case, and it worked! If you need DUI defense, hire TONY!

We are developers of retail real estate; a long established family business that builds for its own account. Trudi does ALL of our purchase and sale transactions, construction and permanent financings, leases, license agreements, basically all documentation having to do with our real estate activity. We have followed her as she changed firms and we are thrilled that she now has her own practice.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Redondo Beach, California?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
