I had a excellent experience with Jeff. He was clear concise and showed good tact & maneuvering for a complex situation. He simplified the process & only contacted me when needed to keep costs at reason.

Jeff saw me on very short notice and met me at his office. I described the situation with an employer that had recently delivered a surprise to me. Jeff very quickly picked up on the most important elements of the situation and was able to focus on the factors that were critical to formulating a compelling response to my former employer in a way that was professional and very quickly resulted in more economics for me. I was fortunate to be referred to Jeff and he helped me in an employment matter where the company was making misleading accusations for my code of conduct. Jeff listened very carefully and really took time to understand the issue and then he discussed with me on how we would respond. Jeff was very knowledgeable about the law and he was able to phrase a response that demonstrated that he knew the law by pointing out specific rebuttals to the proposed accusations. In addition, Jeff was also very responsive as in I had only a couple of days turnaround so I really appreciated his fast response and willingness to work during off-hours. Finally, Jeff was always very patient and was willing to answer any specific questions that I had and to also provide not only his expert law opinion but more importantly how certain things may play out in the real world... so what were realistic options of next steps and the final outcomes. Jeff was also willing to spend extra time and he wasn't ever worried about billing me for any extra time and he was willing to spend extra time (without charging me) and answering any questions that I had.

I consulted with Mr. Curtiss about a small claims case. I wanted to sue a major electronics corporation for breach of contract, but I was intimidated by whole process. Mr. Curtiss was extremely honest from the start about what kind of help he would and wouldn't be able to provide. In our one-hour consultation, I learned how to file the small claim, fill out the paperwork, prepare a trial brief, and put together my exhibits. In the end, I was able to obtain an out-of-court settlement to my satisfaction. I would not have been able to confidently proceed with my case had I not consulted with Mr. Curtiss. He was very patient helping me fill out the paperwork and took my case seriously. I could not have asked for any more from our consultation.

Jeff provided great advice and guidance towards an employment contract that I needed to be handled asap. I had to enforce an employment agreement with an uncooperative former employer. It got a little bit ugly, and took more time than it should have to get to the finish line. Jeff knew all the statutes/labor codes that came into play in my situation, which was helpful in understanding what leverage we would have if we had to go to mediation. Jeff helped me stay calm and not overreact to inflammatory emails from the employer/employer’s attorney. It took longer than it should have because of the employer’s intransigence. Jeff recognized that, and as a result, went easy on some of the time he had to put in to respond, which I really appreciated. We ended up getting 95% of what I was seeking, which I felt was a very good outcome.

Jeff is a cut above..a straight shooter who will vigorously defend your interests, and always with the highest integrity (which what judges/juries who make decisions respect).
