I hired Mr. Bratton after being referred by my sister. She was very pleased with his services so I decided to set up a consultation with him. Bill was upfront with me from the very begging. I appreciated his honesty, understanding and his attentiveness to my concerns. He was very thorough in documenting every conversation and was quick to advise me on how to handle my ex. Being a father of three young daughters, I expected to fight an uphill battle with custody. Bill fought for me and got me what I deserved...50% custody!! He was there through my entire divorce process which included division of all assets, child custody, pension and retirements. Through the 2 1/2 year process, he made sure I was prepared for all court hearings and mediation, he returned all phone calls and emails in a timely manner and he made me feel that he sincerely cared about my case. Bill is worth every penny I spent.

I am a 47 old divorced dad with a 6-year-old lovely daughter. My ex-wife filed for a divorce about a year and a half ago claiming for full legal and physical custody over our daughter. We had been married for 17 years owning real estate and had my own business. I was just like anybody else panicked and I asked my friend to help to find the best attorney to representing me. I was told to call Bratton Razo Lord family law firm. Now my case is over and I could not be happier with the result. I unfortunately had to deal with the spouse who thought that because she is the mom so she can do and say anything. Besides that she accused me with almost anything just to win the case. Mr. Razo was a big relief since start.I felt so confident with him. He was always calm and focused. He always explained the situation and always had a plan to take care of the incoming attacks. Mr. Razo is young, but with the skill and logic like not too many attorneys have these days. My case had involved with the 730 evaluation. Court hearing after hearing Mr. Razo always been a step ahead of my ex’s attorney. Unfortunately negotiating our agreement with my ex wife was out of question since the start. Again Mr. Razo is more then an average attorney. He works towards nothing but the best results as possible. After every office meeting with Mr. Razo I felt very positive and hopeful until the final result. Mr. Razo has an excellent reputation even among attorneys as well. I was witnessing that the other experienced attorney asked his opinion while I was waiting front of the court room. Anytime I had to make a phone call to the office I was handled very professionally. Emails and messages returned with quickly. Also like to mention that Elisabeth Lord helped my case once Mr. Razo was not available and she had done an excellent job. Just another big win. She convinced me to see the judge instead of hopelessly dealing with the other parties. I could not believe to my ears the judge ordered the physical custody for me Monday through Friday for the whole 1st grade class for my daughter. HUGE AND RARE WIN!!!!!!!. - Not for Mr. Razo and Elizabeth Lord. Great team work of this law firm!!!!! I would highly recommend this law firm and especially Mr. Razo and Elizabeth Lord. I rarely leave feedback at all but I feel that I have to do it for Mr. Razo and for the law firm. He has done an AMAZING job for and my life is back and HAPPIER than before. Thank you Mr.Razo!!!

When I was referred to Mr. Razo by a coworker, I was told he was fair, ethical, and thorough. I immediately found that to be true. Mr. Razo was honest with me the entire time. He always gave me expectations, but he also advised me of the reality and possible outcomes. Mr. Razo did not promise me anything but his full effort to help gain joint custody of my children. I had been divorced for 5 years and had partial custody of my two kids with my ex having primary custody. My Ex-wife moved our children over an hour away from me causing turmoil and hardship for the children. Over the years of fighting for more custody, I was bullied and pushed to back down by my ex’s lawyer. My job and schedule were constantly used against me since I worked 12 hours shifts. Mr. Razo assured me that fathers are equal and we can have equal time and custody of our children. Mr. Razo assisted me in having my ex move back to a central location where we can live in the same town, and I was awarded joint Legal and Physical Custody with the equal time share that I requested with no restrictions due to my work schedule. I could not be happier with Mr. Razo's work. He truly made it his goal to help me win the case, but did so in an ethical way that allowed my ex and I to maintain a good relationship. I highly recommend Michael Razo.

Mike Razo represented me in a Domestic Violance Restraining Order and Child Custody/ Visitation case verse Joyce Holcomb. He was very knowledgeable and responded quickly to all the accusations in court. He was very strategic and prepared in court, he had all the information ready for opposing counsel exposing the reality of our case. He was transparent with ever question I asked. The top qualities I saw from Mike was that he was true to his word, honest, and I felt like he wasn’t just trying to take my money as part of the black hole that is the family law system. I could tell he really believed in my case. He made promises to me and kept his promises. I paid for a professional, knowledgeable, well-spoken attorney and that’s what I got! Thank you Mike Razo and Support staff.

My very long divorce/custody court battle began in December 2016. I hired a basic attorney and she wasn't in it for me and my children. She was in it for the money. Upon reading what seemed like a million yelp reviews it seemed like most attorneys bill you for everything and take months/years to resolve anything...why? Because they can! I had to present myself in court once and although my brother's attorney friend helped prepare me for the task I don't think anyone can fully prepare for something like that. Judges DO like to speak to LAWYERS. If one side has an attorney no matter how valid your points are the judge WILL give the attorney more respect and time to speak. #fact My first time meeting Mr. Bratton I KNEW he was the attorney for me. He was assertive and to the point. I could tell he knew what he was saying and doing. He walked in to court like a boss and his demeanor demanded respect. I know my ex and his attorney felt intimidated by Mr. Bratton now handling my case. He looked at everything and fought for what was right. He told me what to expect and he got me out of a few very nasty situations by dealing directly with the opposing counsel. Most importantly I trusted Mr. Bratton with my custody agreement. Without saying too much let's just say he was 100% right about everything. He has dealt with so many divorce custody cases and he can smell bs from a million miles away....if it looks like a duck, quacks like a duck, and walks like a duck...IT'S A DUCK! In the end Mr. Bratton wrapped up everything in less than a year of being on my case. I had the most peace of mind during the time he spent on my case. He was honest with me and he called me right away when I had a question about something. He is a good man and he is great at what he does. He is not just doing it to make money (even though he loves to travel, lol) Overall: 1. Is he expensive? YES, rightfully so. It did cost a lot...but he is qualified and you're paying for top notch service. It goes hand in hand. You want the best, be willing to pay the price. It depends on how much your case means to you. 2. What to expect- you will be billed for the emails and phone calls so be careful when you're making calls. They deduct from the retainer so make sure you really need that information. Otherwise trust who you're paying the big bucks to! 3. My experience - Mr. Bratton is my lifelong attorney if I ever need one. He and his staff are beyond helpful and friendly. Understand it's their livelihood and your life. Ideally two parents should figure out what's best for their children but when that seems impossible because one side simply wants to fight...trust that there will be a fight. Just hire the best to fight for you! Mr. Bratton knew I'd put NO price on fighting for my children; however he didn't prolong my case just to make that money. And that is what I respect him for most. He didn't take advantage of my situation just for his own benefit. If you're serious about hiring someone good then go hire him! Trust me....YOU WILL be happy when you do! Your peace of mind is more important than a few thousand dollars...remember his boss status in court will probably end up saving you in the long run...if you hire some random attorney not only will he/she not be known in the courts but you'll end up paying so much more in the long run! It's a win win if you hire Mr. Bratton! Thank you Mr. Bratton for all that you did for me and my children. God bless you!

Tom Jacobson was hired to address several HR issues involving the termination and untimely retirement of employees. He was prepared, professional and extremely attentive to details. Tom kept the company officers in the loop and made excellent suggestions which made a very unpleasant situation work out smoothly. We've kept him on retainer.

Then BEST man to have on your side and I highly recommend Charles Kenyon. I gave him a call because I had tried talking to A LOT of law offices, I felt that no other offices were giving me any positive feedback nor were they returning my calls. Charles was the only one that would worked with me on traveling all the way to joshua tre, ca and gave me the faith I needed because he knows the law and he was so professional and I would not have anybody else besides Charles Kenyon. Hope anyone whose looking for justice to have your back, to go see Charles.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Riverside, California?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
