Alejandro Barraza,
We are extremely grateful for all your hard work and dedication to helping our daughter. At the beginning it was rocky not knowing what would happen since we've never dealt with any Courts or a Mental Health Lawyer. Our daughters life was in your hands and you fought for her (Mag**). I appreciate you answering all my calls and constant long emails, for keeping our family and deployed daughter in Japan updated with the Court process. We are currently seeing a huge positive turnaround in our daughter. Thank God!
Thank you again from this Military Family.
God bless and much success always
.

Jonathan Mendoza and Empire Law, Inc. saved my life and directly impacted the lives of my husband, children, parents, sister, and the community I live in.
I was stopped while re-entering the country and told that I needed to appear in immigration court. I had charges from over 7 years ago for drug possession and shop lifting. In court my public defender never explained to me that pleading guilty would affect my immigration status as a permanent resident with a green card. I've lived in the USA since I was 2, I'm now 34. I have 2 children who are US citizens, along with a husband who is a US citizen, and since my arrests I've become a substance abuse counselor for parolees- I've literally dedicated my entire life to helping others and trying to stop of the process of substance abuse, untreated mental illness, and recidivism, so this was all a HUGE shock to me. I had no clue how pleading guilty to those charges seven years ago would mean me getting deported to a country I have no ties to.
After obtaining an immigration attorney she referred me to Jonathan Mendoza and Empire Law, Inc. From the second I contacted them I was treated with the utmost respect and explained the entire process I would need to undergo to vacate my old charges so that I didn't get deported. Mr. Mendoza's staff were kind, courteous, and EXTREMELY knowledgeable and thorough. They answered all of my questions and helped me every single step of the way.
Yesterday I finally went to court and the DA not only agreed to not contest the motions, but she actually SUPPORTED me having my charges vacated, thanks to the hard work and mountains of evidence Jonathan Mendoza and his team collected to support my motions. I sobbed throughout court because I am so grateful and relieved that Mr. Mendoza was able to get all of my charges vacated, which means I can stay in the country with my family and continue to work towards helping my community. I am forever grateful to Jonathan and his team. I cannot begin to express my gratitude for what they've done for me and my family. If I could give them 10000 stars on this review I would. Thank you to the whole team at Empire Law, Inc. You're truly a God-send.

Alejandro Barraza helped me fight for my life and I will be eternally grateful. I spent two years of my life fighting false charges that made my life difficult at every turn. I was soon graduating college with a pregnant wife and unable to find jobs because of the pending case, I was losing internships, and the DA was trying to screw me into probation for something she absolutely had to have known we did not commit based on the “evidence” and the ever changing story of the “victim”. She was likely more concerned with her win/loss ratio and probably believed she could slam dunk this case of three minority kids attacking an old white man for no reason in public and then remaining at the scene long enough for the cops to pull up instead of leaving.
Fast forward two years, and this case is still affecting my peace of mind and sanity. It is now the last year of my college education and I should have pursuing internships and like opportunities, but on my record was a pending case, so inevitably I was passed on at every turn as a result of the pending battery charges falsely volleyed against myself and my friends. Even McDonalds denied my application. Getting that piece of mail was crushing. I remember showing my wife and she was amazed.
With no other way to earn money to support my pregnant wife and I, I had to resort to working on a sketchy dairy farm where I separated rotten food of all sorts arriving from various supermarkets and restaurants from their metal/glass/plastic/wood containers after they were dumped and spread thin by tractor. I did this by hand in working conditions so bad most would rather sell themselves on the street than work here if given the choice. I used to have to shake a plagues-worth of roaches out of the rain slickers and shredded rain boots every morning before I could put them on; the air was constantly thick with fat lazy flies that coated every surface in a living haze; I would often be shin deep in filth wearing farm provided rain boots that had holes worn in the side and soles, most days my socks were completely soaked within the first hour of my 8 hour shifts. I eventually resorted to tying trash bags around my feet before putting the boots on to keep my feet dry.
To add insult to injury, the money was peanuts because the temporary labor agency was taking a cut but I was paid daily and I needed that. I ended up with the farm assignment daily because it was the only placement that needed me everyday, most likely due to no one wanting to work in the conditions of this run down dairy farm. Also, if not for the farm, I would have to wait for text messages with job alerts and respond in time to get the job, but trying to secure job assignments this way mean that I could likely go days without work.
At the same time as I am dealing with the difficulties of providing for my new family however I could, I was taking the one of the most difficult and challenging classes of my undergraduate studies. Life was hard and often I felt as if I could not go on, everything felt hopeless.
As a black man being falsely accused by a white man, I feared for my future. For two years I had no peace of mind, I was constantly anxious, I feared that this violent charge would interfere with my dreams of being a high school government teacher. School started to feel meaningless. It honestly felt as if justice would never prevail. I remember sitting in the courtroom as the DA painted me out to be an arrogant, violent, hoodlum, while I sat quietly, ten feet away with tears streaming down my face because it was the first time in my life I was truly powerless. Being filled with righteous indignation but constrained to silence and stillness as I was painted a monster was truly one of the most distressing moments of my life; it felt as if the truth did not matter. This is why I appreciate that Alejandro did his damnedest and fought for me tooth and nail for my exoneration, and in the end we prevailed. There is no doubt that if you need a lawyer who will put in work for you, Alejandro is your guy.

I’d like to give thanks to Mr. Barraza for going above and beyond with my case, my case was prolonged for almost three years until I was referred by an associate to meet with Mr. Barraza for some legal assistance in regards to my case. Then I hired him as my attorney from there he’s been amazing Mr. Barraza is about fairness, integrity and justice, most importantly I developed a friendship with Mr. Barraza throughout this journey. We need more minority attorneys like Mr. Barraza that can continue to help others that’s been unfairly treated or looked at as a criminal that can’t make it in today’s society I’m here to say most definitely not true because we can and will make it society no matter how this Judicial system is set up.
