This Law firm, specifically Graham Donath has literally save my life and given me at an advanced age , a new lease on life. I made a huge mistake, and arrested 10 yrs ago, sentanced to 9.2 yrs in prison for a felony ,, for a huge 7 figure plus financial crime, which should have been on the famous TV show….Graham Donath and his law firm, through his expertise and years of dealing with the judges in Riverside county, got my sentance reduced to 32 months., with a year being served at a Fire Camp.. At the advise of Mr Graham Donath I stayed clean for now 7 yrs and again , Graham Donath, went to the same court , and expunged my felony conviction, with the proper penal code, to a mere misdemeanor, and now I am able to get a great job , have a meaningful relationship, and the opportunity to get housing as a normal person, AND. GET MY LIFE AND FAMILY BACK and be a productive member of society again. … Not only is Graham Donath a great lawyer with all the proper law abiding connections, he is extremely Affordable as compared to others. and very accessible and communicates well.. … I cannot thank him and his staff enough for ALL they have done for me and my family. I am super Grateful to The lLaw Firm of Graham Donath…

From the beginning Mr. Lin was exceptional in every facet you can be as an attorney. He represented me in a murder trial and won me my freedom. Throughout the process he was very personable with my family as well as myself. He not only believed in me and my case but went above and beyond to be prepared for my trial. Not only was he attentive to detail but always maintained open and honest communication with me. I can’t say enough about his professionalism and knowledge of the law. He never once swayed from his conviction that I was innocent but explored all of my options with me and told me he’d go in the direction that I wished. He was the only attorney that came to visit me and represented me from the beginning of my case through the end of my trial. I’m blessed to have been able to have him as an attorney and come to know him as a person. If I find myself in any legal trouble in the future I wouldn’t have any other attorney represent me.

Attorney Lin was referred to our family after several years of battling the court system in Riverside County, bogged down with Covid restrictions and backlogs of cases trying to find court rooms available to serve defendants lined up to have their day in court. After nearly three years, my grandson was finally relieved when Mr. Lin was able to navigate my grandson out of a hellish judicial nightmare, giving him a new lease on life. Attorney Paul Lin is an outstanding star in his field as a defense lawyer. My family will be forever grateful for what he was able to do for us. He is the true Super Hero. Thank you Paul Lin.

Please excuse my brother review (Travis Betts) it's not true at all he's a good lawyer and definitely not racist at all that's a lie. I know myself because he helped me get the best deal I could ever had. I love my brother but he has a bad attitude and needs to listen. If I was to ever need a lawyer again i would definitely go with Mr. Donath. I'm sorry for my brother's review keep up the good work God bless u 🙏🏼

Tom Jacobson was hired to address several HR issues involving the termination and untimely retirement of employees. He was prepared, professional and extremely attentive to details. Tom kept the company officers in the loop and made excellent suggestions which made a very unpleasant situation work out smoothly. We've kept him on retainer.

Charles was a true professional handling my family law / removing support case. Even though he's said his strength was in criminal law he handled this for me and was a complete success in achieving my goals. He was priced right and I felt a true level of honesty and compassion for resolving my case. I would recommend Charles in a minute and in the event I am ever in need of attorney his number is at the top of my list.

Then BEST man to have on your side and I highly recommend Charles Kenyon. I gave him a call because I had tried talking to A LOT of law offices, I felt that no other offices were giving me any positive feedback nor were they returning my calls. Charles was the only one that would worked with me on traveling all the way to joshua tre, ca and gave me the faith I needed because he knows the law and he was so professional and I would not have anybody else besides Charles Kenyon. Hope anyone whose looking for justice to have your back, to go see Charles.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Riverside, California?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
