I wrote a review and it doesn’t look like it submitted. Trying again. It cost us $5k to retain this law office. We hired them mid April. In just 3 months I’ve accumulated a bill over $15k. Our case isn’t anything extraordinary and it isn’t even close to being done. We have gone to court twice and had a few motions filed. Please be advised that this is a nickel and dime you type of law office. It has cost me around $1,037 for 13 emails. $270 in fees for emails and phone calls to people who were no longer associated with this case. When I explained to the lawyer I do not want to pay for their mistake, I was told it’s not that much and if he wanted me to know this information prior, he would have had to charge me to look into my case. Which means he didn’t educate himself in the case properly, causing me to be charged for something I didn’t need to be charged for and was told they will not take this off of my bill. A few examples of how their prices break down, they will charge you 9 minutes for sending an email, 27 minutes for leaving a voicemail and sending an email, 9 minutes for uploading a document, 9 minutes to email you your receipts, 9 minutes to confirm you want to appear remotely, 9 minutes to take your credit card information, 9 minutes to correct your credit card information. Mind you, these 9 minutes cost anywhere from $11-$65. I have been threatened to be dropped as a client numerous times after we agreed on a payment plan of $1500/m. They said that they need paid $5k+ each time they’ve called. I have never worked with a lawyer that expects you to pay a bill in full of $15,000. I have worked with several lawyers with large bills in the past. They will toss you around their entire firm. I’ve had around 11 different people working on this case. I have contacted several other law firms just in case they drop us and each office said that these charges are astronomical. I have also gotten confirmation from other law offices that they will gladly accept affordable payment plans in order to serve our needs. We have reached out to several friends in California working with other lawyers and confirmed these prices are extremely high and there are lawyers who will work with your budget on a monthly payment plan. Please shop around if you are looking for a lawyer. You do not need to pay this much. If a law office is going to charge you for every breath you take, they should be willing to work with their clients on affordable payment plans. When going through a life event that is hard enough in itself, you need a team who is going to support you through it, who is going to know you need their help and want to set you up for success, not make the process harder. I don’t believe this law office is one to do that, they’ve definitely made my situation more difficult.

Once your retainer is taken, you are left without any consultation and in limbo until an attorney is assigned to you. When you speak with an assigned attorney, the $5000.00 retainer takes effect, leaving you with no alternative but to hope that they're a good match. I had a two-hour conversation with the attorney assigned to me, but they did not come to a solution and informed me that I would have to prepare everything myself, which I was already aware of. She did not offer me legal counsel, but she made me aware of the potential cost when I suggested what I actually needed. After that conversation, I am short of 1200.00. I had the impression that the firm placed a lot of emphasis on the quality of their lawyers while frequently referring to money. During my time with them, I was unable to directly contact my assigned attorney. This made me believe that their reputation and finances were more important than the father's rights. It has made it past the 5 days promised for refund and zero communications for a tracking number for refund Absolutely horrible experience
