What an absolute NIGHTMARE dealing with Money Hungry Hadley. This law office is just being used to get money out of ignorant immigrants. They are taking advantage of immigrants and exploiting their lack of knowledge for monetary gain. We had about 4 different attorneys touch our case in the span of 1 year. This high turnover rate caused obvious issues with communication and case information and we fell victim to this unfortunate malpractice. Ultimately, we received an RFE and Hadley's advice to respond did not relate to the actual request made by the officer. Her advice would have cost us over $10k ON TOP of the fees already collected by her office. This was not only an obvious "money-grab" but it also put our future of our family in jeopardy, IN THE MIDDLE OF A PANDEMIC. I'm sorry to those of you who are using Hadley now because her monthly payments are convenient, but she is not working for YOUR success, she is working for HER OWN.

Total scam. Stay Away. They mishandled my case! On top of that they gave me WRONG immigration advice and proposals on how to proceed by paying them even more. THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOUR IMMIGRATION JOURNEY, JUST MONEY HUNGRY AND LAZY OVERALL. I got so many second opinions from 10+ other attorneys and researched the law myself (since I have a law background myself) and they were wrong. In the last 2-3 years that I dealt with Hadley Bajramovics' office they kept changing case workers and paralegals due to their high turnover rates. They did not look into the details of my case and kept transferring from case worker to caseworker that neglected my case. They ended up sending a Junior attorney to my interview who had no clue what she was doing or getting involved in. Eventually a lot of documents were lost and my case was submitted incompletely resulting in a RFE. They then and tried to charge me even for responding for a RFE, even though it was included in my package. Then, they wanted to include other forms and charge about $10.000+ on top of my regular payment. Don't let the monthly payment options and the free consultation lure you into working with them. Immigration is a very sensitive subject and you are dealing with a lot of vulnerable people. Please also research the credibility of their other reviews and check them out on Glassdoor. It is certainly not a company with happy employees to my observations. I am taking legal action in recovering my fees and getting them written up with the California Bar Association.

From my first interaction with staff at Hadley's office gave me impression that I came to right place. Hadley and her staff suggested me to go for family based petition for GC application for me and my wife. They gave me the proper guidance what documents I will need- so it made my work easy to collect docs . It was very easy to communicate with them for my doubts and queries. Each time they were very prompt to reply the same. As our applications got submitted properly we could receive our green cards just in 6 months period. We got RFE as one document was not submitted. It would have been avoided but I wont consider it as any major mistake or negligence as it can happen in any process. The staff at the office is very knowledgable, kind, co-operative and helpful ( every time gave me car rides as I dont drive). The overall experience- from the first consultation, preparing applications, suggesting proper translators, submission to USCIS -- was fantastic. Ms Hadley and all staff members-- A BIG THANK YOU to all.

Tom Jacobson was hired to address several HR issues involving the termination and untimely retirement of employees. He was prepared, professional and extremely attentive to details. Tom kept the company officers in the loop and made excellent suggestions which made a very unpleasant situation work out smoothly. We've kept him on retainer.

I had a 2nd offense DUI with failure to appear and suspended license charge from 2018. I did not think I had much chance for victory, I thought I could at least do some damage control. So I wanted the top DUI attorney in Riverside County, and my research lead me to Attorney Barba. I hired him because I wanted the attorney who gave me the best shot. At the 2nd appearance, my case was dismissed in its entirety. I must say I was very pleased and rather surprised the case was defeated as fast and as completely as it was. Incredible result. Saves me a tremoundous burden of dealing with the penalties. I believe that if a case can be beaten, Attorney Barba will give you best shot. Highly Recommend

I made a dumb mistake and was arrested for a DUI. I was lost and had no idea what to do or how to handle the situation. I asked around and a friend referred me to Mr. Barba. It was apparent he knew what was talking about from our first consultation. He did a great job on my case and got me a great deal. I am so grateful. I highly recommend him.

What Questions Should I Ask Before Hiring a Lawyer?

Hiring the right lawyer is crucial for the success of your case. Here are some important questions to ask during your initial consultation:

  1. What experience do you have with cases similar to mine?
Ensure the lawyer has relevant experience in the specific area of law pertaining to your case.
  2. How do you charge for your services, and what are the estimated costs?
Understand the fee structure, including hourly rates, flat fees, retainer fees, and any additional expenses.
  3. Who will be handling my case?
Find out if the lawyer will handle your case personally or delegate tasks to other attorneys or paralegals.
  4. What is your approach to resolving cases like mine?
Learn about their strategy, whether they prefer negotiation, mediation, or litigation.
  5. What potential outcomes can I expect?
While no lawyer can guarantee results, they can provide an assessment of possible scenarios based on their experience.
  6. How will you communicate with me throughout the process?
Establish expectations for updates, preferred communication methods, and response times.
  7. What is the expected timeline for my case?
Get an estimate of how long the process may take from start to finish.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Riverside, California?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
