Mr. Goss treated me very kindly. He could not take my case because it was not the kind of case he does. But he still took time out of his day to answer my questions and do his best to point me in the right direction. He did not rush to get off the phone with me like so many attorneys do. He even called me back when he thought of something else. If I had the type of case he does, I would definitely hire him.

Blair Goss got involved quickly, trying to reach out to the prosecutor prior to the arraignment. It was a case where a conviction was virtually certain, so it was obvious that pleading guilty was the right way to go. Blair negotiated a plea deal that included jail time, but required pleading guilty only to a misdemeanor rather than a felony, a significant win after ten years without any repeat offenses. I don't think a public defender would have been able to devote enough time to the case to accomplish the same result, especially since a public defender would not have been assigned until the need for one was identified during the arraignment. The prosecutor isn't going to misrepresent the facts of the case, but he or she is representing the government and is not going to present the judge with a balanced view of the situation. Having an attorney who is familiar with the facts of the case present at your arraignment ensures that the judge will hear a more balanced presentation of the facts.
