I was in a MVA four years ago. After begging and pleading with my HMO, I was finally diagnosed with spinal cord injuries to all areas of my spine two and a half years after the fact. I do have advocates within my HMO, but they are hampered by policies that confine their efforts. I have been living in pain unable to participate in life. I have felt so alone. I am loosing feeling in my “saddle” area. My prognosis is eventual paralysis. Talking to Alexis has given me hope that my needs can.be met. After a telephone conversation, she put me in touch with not just one, but several advocacy groups that can help me get a correct diagnosis and treatment. I am so grateful to Alexis and the Moseley Collins law firm. I feel stronger knowing that there is someone in my corner ready to jump in and support me. After getting a correct diagnosis and a path to treatment that perhaps will stave off paralysis, we will take to task my HMO and their policy of doing the absolute minimum for me.
