Roger K. Is a lair and has no back bone. His paralegal Ashley is clueless and they have no communication within their office. He took over $800 from me and did nothing but waste six months of mine out of time I’ve been trying to see my daughter and divorce my ex. He still hasn’t sent me the little bit of money that is left out of the whole retainer I paid him. My case is even more screwed up than it was before they had it. DO NOT USE THIS SLUMLAYER!!!!

My wife hired Roger Kosla for a family law matter and he lied to us on numerous occasion's and we have the proof. So here comes our first hearing in Dept 5 in Placerville on 05/04/2017. Right off the bat my wife and I felt bullied into stipulating to adopt the CCRC report and we were told by our attorneys Roger Kosla and Debbie Michell Flores that if my wife didn't stipulate to this, that she would lose custody of her minor daughter. So we agreed to the stipulation, trusting Bowmen and associates. My wife provided Debbie Michell Flores, Mr Kosla's stand in for that day in court on May 4th, with the Sassi drug evaluation report that had been done by Edca LifeSkills in Placerville (the first offender program for DUI cases) which she passed with flying colors. (The lowest possible risk for drug dependency) and then we watched and listened FROM FIVE FEET AWAY as Ms Flores produced that drug evaluation to the opposing counsel (Josh Miller) from Miller and associate's. As Ms Flores walked up and produced the drug report, Mr Miller said "do you have a drug evaluation for me" and Ms Flores said yes here it is. Then Mr Miller looked at it and said and I quote, "that'll do". After that hearing on 05/04/2017 apparently neither Ms Flores or Roger Kosla or anyone from Bowmen and associates bothered to make sure that the (Findings and orders after hearing) which had been prepared by opposing counsel (JOSH MILLER) contained the evidence that we had submitted to the court, namely the SASSI drug evaluation that my wife had preemptively taken. So there was no legal record of that evidence ever being submitted. The night before the next status hearing on 06/08/2017, Mr Kosla lied to both myself and my wife in an email that he actually had the SASSI drug evaluation report (IN HIS HAND) and would produce it if the judge needed it. My wife had taken the drug evaluation even before the court ordered a drug evaluation in order to show she had nothing to hide and was not a substance abuser. Now because the drug evaluation was not properly submitted and recorded in the court records, on 06/08/17 comes a HEARING: Request for order (with Modification's) for the following. #1: (Drug and alcohol evaluation) of respondent. (ALREADY DONE BY MY WIFE WITH EDCA) #2: Custody evaluation #3: Conjoint co-parenting counseling (ALREADY TAKEN VOLUNTARILY BY MY WIFE YEARS BEFORE WITH BOTH (Catherine Underwood) as well as (Judy French) and Charles the petitioner refused to attend the sessions at that time. #4: Custody and visitation #5: A Child custody recommending counseling review. My wifes attorney Roger Kosla appeared on 06/08/2017 and he reiterated "I have the drug evaluation with me" and I will present it to the court if need be. At this point we didn't know that he did not have that SASSI drug report with him. So the case is called and judge Ashworth asks (and this is not verbatim) she said something to the effect, has a drug evaluation been completed and roger Kosla says, yes your honor "YOU SHOULD HAVE THAT IN YOUR RECORDS" her reply was NO I don't see it in the file. She then asks opposing counsel Josh Miller do you have a copy Mr Miller and Mr miller replies, (Quote) "NO YOUR HONOR WE HAVEN'T RECEIVED ANYTHING" (End Quote). When he knew that he had at the hearing date on 05/04/2017. Roger Kosla sat there sweating and mumbling under his breath and my wife and I were so stunned that I don't even think we heard what was said next. Roger Kosla did not have the SASSI Drug evaluation in his possession and neither did BOWMEN AND ASSOCIATES in their records. Our own attorney KNOWINGLY lied to the judge AND SO DID JOSH MILLER. The Judge was angry and said and I quote, "So you expect me to return time to your client with a late filed declaration and no drug evaluation" (End Quote). Up to that point we had not been informed by anyone at Bowmen and associates that Roger Kosla had filed a late declaration. The judge immediately adopted the CCRC recommendation and my wife was NOT granted the return of 50/50 custody of her minor daughter.

I would not recommend Robert Bowman as a divorce lawyer. He did not fight for me on the important issues, and I pretty much did all the leg work and drafted all the correspondences for him to sign. He was totally overpowered by my ex-wife's attorney, who made him look like a dog with his tail between his legs. I recommend you find a lawyer that will foght for your rights, not just push papers through the system to get paid.

I hired Roger Kosla with Bowman and Associates to help me with my family law case. We started to work together at the beginning of the year in 2016. Although my divorce was final, I asked him to help me with moving to Texas from California and keeping my support up to date. It is now December of 2016 and not only has he given me horrible advice, he has also not fought for any support at all; therefore I am not getting spousal or child support. ZERO!!! I have asked him over and over for 6 months now to get my support in order but all he wants to do is run circles by constantly emailing about other ridiculous stuff. I keep telling him to stop the nonsense and just go forward to get the support but he still does nothing. Then on top of that he wants me to pay him an extra $4000 over the $2400 I have already paid him. He was the one that actually got me in to this terrible situation! Where is the logic! I have given them 2 weeks and after that I will be taking this up in court, and it will not be family law court either! Please message me and I will tell you all about it! If you want to get together and file a malpractice suit, let me know. I will be filing it 100% due to them not filing paperwork that they were supposed to file and putting me in the process of contempt. I have tons of proof as well. I also am forced to move next week due to them not getting support that has been rightfully owed for over 6 months.

Reviewed the case, took my money, and later stopped answering my calls and emails. I feel scammed and lost time.

I hired Mr. Bowman for a child custody case his office personnel is very unprofessional and careless they failed to serve important documents which caused damage to my case, then Mr.Bowman lied to me telling me that they did send them but that they had lost the proof of them sending them when that is very important. He stated on a letter to explain to the judge how they had not sent the letter because he had a change of assistant,pathetic they had no change of staff I went to the office after and the same person was handling my case, I had to change attorneys and they wont respond when I ask for the balance of my retainer fee. Stay away very untrustworthy and unprofessional.

This firm dropped the ball, wasted my time, and stonewalled me. I contacted them about an urgent landlord-tenant issue in which my home was damaged by water while I was out-of-state and I needed help forthwith about how to proceed. I tried to use my Hyatt Legal Plan that they are contracted with. At first the staff acted helpful and I had a conversation with attorney Steven Robinson the next day. However, he was concerned about whether my Hyatt Legal Plan covered this type of advice, and would not advise me further until the office confirmed my coverage with Hyatt Legal. I confirmed the coverage with Hyatt Legal myself, but the office staff told me that their office manager had to be the one to call Hyatt before I could get any further advice from the attorney. I did everything that I possibly could over the course of that day and the next day to facilitate this communication. They kept promising me that the office manager would call Hyatt forthwith, but he did not do so. The staff simply did not care that wet items were staying in my apartment and that I was in urgent need of assistance from their firm. I even called their office with a representative from Hyatt Legal on the line and had her leave a message for Steven's secretary Connie, confirming that my issue was a covered matter and saying to call back with any questions. The office manager and the rest of the staff just could not be bothered to make this one simple phone call to enable me to get service from them. After I made these attempts to facilitate the communication, I didn't hear from them again, and I had to move onto another law firm after wasting three days with this firm. This was a completely ridiculous and inexcusable failure to render service. The only positive thing that I got out of it was the bit of advice that I should hire a water damage mitigation firm to handle my household items, from my initial conversation with the attorney. However, I wish that this firm would have made a serious effort to provide service to me as a client, rather than stonewalling me over an absurd clerical hang-up.

Mr. Kwun was my father’s attorney from the Folsom Office. This morning my father (79) had an appointment with the bankruptcy court downtown. His attorney did not appear to the courthouse until my father the called the office, as the direction of the trustee as my father was scheduled to appear before the trustee. When my Father spoke to Mr. Kwun on the phone he was very casual and felt it was no big deal, commenting “Oh, I guess today is the 28th”. Don't worry the court will allow for the late arrival.” When Mr. Kwun did finally appear to the courthouse, (1 hour late) he was unapologetic and I felt very unprofessional with my Father and the court. Bankruptcy was a very difficult decision for my Dad and Mr. Kwun certainly added stress to the process. We left the courthouse today, Mr. Kwun abruptly left my dad, barely having any conversation with my Dad, leaving my Dad with unanswered questions. This firm has been very unprofessional through the entire process. My Dad or myself would not recommend this firm for any future legal needs.

Robert Bowman is a straight up crook, do yourself a favor and find someone who won't take all of your money and drop you once the retainer runs out!
