Spoke with Sylvia who asked some questions about my case. I was then referred to a nice Lady Attorney who thoroughly explained my legal rights and how the legal system works in these types of cases. Very interesting. Thank you Sylvia and Kate for your help at a very trying and emotional time in my life. A few minutes of kindness can really go a LONG way.

If I could give more than 5 stars I would! I came to Eliot in 2020 after being involved in a car accident. A person ran a red light at an excessive speed and hit me. Even though I had witnesses and was clearly in the right they tried to blame me. I know I needed help and Eliot had been recommended to me by a friend. Him and Courtney went above and beyond. Not only did they do their job and take it very seriously, it was more than that. They truly cared about me and my well being. They made me feel heard and respected. This accident caused me a lot of pain from injury and grief, I could not work at the same capacity I normally did, my mental health plummeted and I was having to see Drs and go to physical therapy all of which Eliot helped me find and figure out. My case was finally finished in my favor! Money aside Eliot and Courtney very much helped me through this tough time. I can not recommend Eliot Reiner enough!!

I feel so ashamed that I hadn't followed through with my promise! Better late than never I suppose! We all have this preconceived notion of how an attorney is. I can tell you first hand that Eliot and his team are on the opposite side of the spectrum. Absolutely amazing team. Let me start with his staff. They always answered everything immediately for me. Never had to wait, quick detailed responses and absolute care for their clients. Nothing short of absolute friendliness. Now let me move onto the man himself. From the first time I met Eliot, he seemed more like a caring friend or family member. Before getting into the specifics of my case, he wanted to know how my personal health was. How I was feeling after my injury. He would ask about my family and how they were doing, with utter sincerity. He also represented my little sister and would always ask how she was doing. Eliot is more than an attorney. He is a friend first, a newly adopted family member and then a lawyer! His expertise and efficiency were nothing short of astounding. Now for a little story...... Two pastors and a lawyer are up in heaven. St. Peter is taking them around to their houses that they will live in for eternity. As they walk down the streets laden with gold, they come up to a little rickety shack with nails half way banged in, duct tape hanging off here and there. St. Peter tells the first pastor "Here is your house!." The pastor asks St. Peter "Are you sure this is mine? I served the almighty my entire life!" St. Peter says "Yup, yup. That's your house. I built it this morning myself." St. Peter walks a little further up the road with the other two. They come up to another shabby looking shack. St. Peter says "Alright Pastor Jim, here is your house!" Pastor Jim is shocked and says "St. Peter, are you sure this is mine? I dedicated my entire life to the Lord." St. Peter assures him that this is his house. So St. Peter and the attorney go up the road a little further. They come up to this gigantic beautiful golden mansion. St. Peter tells the attorney "Here is your house for all of eternity!" The attorney asks him "Are you sure this is mine? Why would I get this big beautiful mansion when the two pastors got those two shacks?" St. Peter says "Those pastors, we have plenty of them up here. You're the first lawyer that's ever made it!" If this was a true story, that lawyer would absolutely be Eliot. As long as he is around, I will never use another personal injury lawyer besides him. Do yourself a favor and hire this man and his team! I can promise that you won't be disappointed. Thank you Eliot and your team for all that you did for me! I will be forever grateful.

If you are looking for a personal injury attorney, Eliot Reiner is your man. He is the type of attorney who will not rest until he accomplishes his task with the very best outcome for you. Eliot will fight for you at your weakest and most vulnerable moments, and continue to do so, making sure you are taken care of. He is always acting in your best interest. Eliot is a very hard worker, professional, knowledgeable, motivated, compassionate, and a go getter. The best quality about him is that he genuinely cares. If you hire Eliot Reiner, not only will he be your best advocate, but you will have a friend for life. Once your case is over he does not just walk away, he will be part of your life for a lifetime. Eliot creates that relationship with you. He represented us approximately 20 years ago in an extremely difficult case, jumping over all the obstacles, and never giving up, in the contrary he fought back harder. I reached out to him recently for medical advice. He was able to guide me in the direction to get taken care of. Eliot will keep you up to date on the entire process and answer any questions or concerns you might have. Rest assured, Eliot will always be working on your case at all hours, he is not an 8-5 attorney. If you need the assistance of a personal injury attorney call the best, Eliot Reiner, and you will see how easily he will guide you through your toughest times. I very highly recommend him!

Being new to California, Rudy was referred to me by a highly-respected Employment & Labor attorney from outside the Sacramento region. She said, "Rudy's your guy. "You have a believable story. Rudy will be sure you get a fair shot. Call him." I did. Rudy returned my initial call promptly. He took time to listen to my story, asking thoughtful and provoking questions along the way. Within 20 minutes I had a clear understanding of the unique California employment laws I was up against. Rudy clearly laid out next steps he felt were available to me. Rudy presented two straight-up fee options, a super easy to complete online engagement agreement and then encouraged me to think about things before signing! He said "If I thought he could be helpful and I wanted to proceed, to call him back to meet the aggressive document timelines established by my employer." I did. Within 48-hours of engaging Rudy's services, he took full control of my case, and established an elevated level for consideration to my employer, offering a real sense of hope for me and my family. Rudy then said to stay calm, be patient and wait. I did. Over a matter on weeks, Rudy communicated directly with my employers leadership, human resources and attorneys, keeping me informed every step of the way. Rudy reported, "the company is moving slowly, but definitely moving in the right direction for you. Keep the faith." I did. The bottom line; Working with Rudy was an inspiring experience for me. Rudy knows his stuff, kept me informed, was straightforward, honest and true to his word. Rudy negotiated a fair agreement with my past employer at levels greater than I could have achieved on my own. Rudy's sense of justice, (vs. the dollar) is real and so refreshing. Did Rudolf Delson's expertice, leadership, guidance, and dedication to my personal employment case make a difference for me and my family? YES, RUDY DID!

Sympathetic, friendly, analytical, and most importantly, effective. Highly effective. These are simply a few words I would use to describe Mr. Delson as my lawyer. I had spent more years than I care to remember, giving everything I had to an employer I imagined staying with for the rest of my career. Then, in an instant, it was all gone. I was destroyed. I needed to hold my employer accountable but had no legal resources to turn to. Then I found Mr. Delson via Avvo. Over the next few months, Mr. Delson reviewed my case in minute detail, collaborated with additional specialist counsel (the case was complex and extended way beyond pure-play employment issues), and devised the winning strategy. Going up against a large company with expensive lawyers is not for the faint-hearted. If you are in a situation like this and are unsure as to whether you should proceed with litigation - talk to Mr. Delson. Now I am on the other side of this case, I couldn't be happier with the result. Did I mention he is also a joy to work with? Absolutely delighted.

Never did I expect I'd need a lawyer for my small business. Those types of problems happened to "other people". However, that day came and I really felt like I had no recourse. As a last resort, I talked to Rudy about my options and he knew I had a case. I was nervous, as this whole process was new to me, but he was so knowledgeable about the whole situation, guided me through my options and was able to parse through a complicated situation and break it down succinctly. I felt heard and taken care of, and thus, trusted Rudy's decisions from day one on the best approach—and we ended the process better than I ever expected. Thank you!!

Knows the rules of the game, very insightful and with a work ethic beyond compare (she was at a July 4th celebration with her family working on my company's transaction via phone and laptop as it was international and where I was doing the deal didn't give a flying 's*&t' about America's Independence Day and wanted it done.) Very sharp, reliable and the best securities lawyer I've seen on the West Coast.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Sacramento, California?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
