Dale Mann is an excellent workman's compensation lawyer who helped me win my case against the insurance company. Every time the insurance company denied my medical care, he and his associates would get a court hearing ordered. He and his associates are on top of their game, and are very professional, and answered all my questions in a timely fashion.

At first, our decision to retain Mr. Marshall Brubacher of Mundell, Odlum, and Haws was based primarily on proximity and his experience with high-profile cases. It wasn't long before Mr. Brubacher's professionalism and approachability overshadowed our initial reasons for hiring him.   Armed with intimate knowledge of real estate law and contract law, Mr. Brubacher was able take one of our cases and settle within a fraction of the time (few months) it took our former attorney (5+ years).    Our other lawsuit involved a contract that was breached for more than a year.  I thought we were at an impasse until Mr. Brubacher got the case.  He quickly reached a settlement in a couple months and we received modest compensation.  Many settlements include language that would prevent further litigation. This settlement however, was finalized in such a way that we could still pursue the other party for the remaining amount due to us (which we took full advantage).   What you will find refreshing about Mr. Brubacher is that when he gets his messages and emails, he will respond to them promptly.  He takes a realistic and practical view of the case and is frank with the different directions a case can go.  He also has an uncanny ability to explain law in plain language and how it applies to our case. Our overall best interest in terms of outcome versus your investment in time and legal fees was always taken into consideration.  In short, I highly recommend Mr. Marshall Brubacher for your business litigation needs.

We retained Mr. Brubacher to assist us with a frivolous lawsuit that we thought would be costly to defend. He managed to get us our company out of the case quickly and cheaply on jurisdictional grounds within less than a month.

Kampf, Schiavone & Associates are the best attorneys ever! Although my cases were difficult & complicated with multiple work injuries, Schiavone, Kampf & Associates never gave up on my cases with both, Workmen’s Comp, and my Subsequent Injury Benefit Trust Fund case, also known as SIBTF. I started with Kampf, Schiavone, & Associates a few years back, & they were finally able to get the State Workmen’s Compensation Board & State (my employer) to come to a final agreement & we settled with a fairly good outcome for me, and I was very happy with that Permanent & Stationary settlement. It’s very difficult trying to settle any type of a case with the state of California, but my attorney’s at Kampf, Schiavone, & Associates did just that for me., and they did it extremely well. They also found me great doctors to provide the lifetime medical care I needed, and where I live, that’s not an easy thing to do. Immediately after my case was settled with Workmen’s Compensation, my attorneys advised me that I might qualify for the State SIBTF award. And my attorneys began the process of setting me up with the required various Medical evaluations, which didn’t take very long at all. I think the whole process of all the evaluation took about perhaps less than a year maybe, and then my attorneys set up with the State of CA SIBTF for SIBTF court hearings, which I did not have to go to at all. My attorney took care of everything For me. Bottom line, my attorneys won me 100% with approximately 7.5-8 years of backpay, Plus a substantial monthly amount of income for the remainder of my life-span. I am very thankful for everything Kampf, Schiavone, & Associates did for me. I don’t know what I would had done without them, & their help, but I do know this: Schiavone, Kampf, & Associates never gave up on me & my cases with them. They fought long & hard for me, and provided me with solid emotional support, when things felt too hard & overwhelming for me…they were always there for me. If not for Mr. Schiavone, the staff & my attorneys, Mark, Kathy, & Amy, Jessica, & litigation assistants, each & everyone of them, I would not be well off today, if not for these wonderful expert injury attorneys at Kampf, Schiavone & Associates. They are ALL the BEST!

  4. What is your approach to resolving cases like mine?
Learn about their strategy, whether they prefer negotiation, mediation, or litigation.
  5. What potential outcomes can I expect?
While no lawyer can guarantee results, they can provide an assessment of possible scenarios based on their experience.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of San Bernardino, California?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
