Nothing prepares you for the messiness of divorce, especially one involving kids. But having Hilary as an advocate was a huge win! From preparing for mediation, to navigating a difficult ex, to years later assisting with custody issues that arose, Hilary helped me each step of the way. She kept my kids’ well being paramount. I felt seen and heard. She managed a balance of being firm and not backing down, while at the same time not antagonizing the opposition. I am more than satisfied with Hilary and continue to recommend her to anyone needing a lawyer!

Over the years of a rocky marriage, I have hired two lawyers and consulted with several more. I've been on the receiving end in court of some brutal, self-interested characters, who seem mostly interested in lining their pockets by racking up billable hours. <insert lawyer joke here, amirite?> Hilary is truly one of the good guys in a field of - let's put this charitably - mixed actors. To start, she's incredibly competent. She knows case law and is up to date on the recent rulings in the field. She's also incredibly communicative, able to set up a meeting on relatively short notice and be there for you when you need her. But more importantly, she genuinely tries to see through to the heart of the disagreement between you and the other party, whether that's opposing counsel or your spouse. She helps come up with creative solutions to some of the biggest problems in a divorce. And it's that quality - being able to see things clearly from both sides - along with proposing solutions that de-escalate, that are in the child's best interest, that help resolve the situation that most impresses me about Hilary. I will always be grateful that Hilary (and Paul Boyer, her partner) came into my life. Many thanks.

With everything going on during the pandemic there are a lot of unknowns out there as to how to proceed. Ms. Boyer was extremely professional and knew her stuff when dealing with child custody issues. She was able to put my mind at ease with how to proceed during this difficult time. I will not hesitate to go with her again if I need any more help.

I read something someone wrote which I thought would describe Hilary perfectly "It’s not the law firm that establishes (a lawyer's) reputation, it is (his/her) integrity, hard work, and zealous advocacy." That's Hilary in a nutshell. Apparently San Diego legal community is small compared to other municipalities.  My complicated case taught me that you want not only an exceptional advocate by yourside, but also someone that is likable and adaptable so they can navigate and fare all "weather" conditions and personality types to your benifit, and that's outwardly speaking about Hilary. Inwardly, when I was at my lowest, most vulnerable, the lonest, most confused, conflicted, most scared, worried, angry, Hilary lended me her shoulder to lean on.  Sometimes it felt like she was my only ally in the world.  God knows during those pivotal moments I truly needed someone like Hilary to guide me gently but firmly and decisively onto the path of recovery and to devise strategies that were win-win...and she did it with such humility and sincerity. If you're someone in the pit of divorce battles, especially with children in toll, Hilary would surely be your champion and passionately so!

Hilary is knowledgable, professional, and invested in her clients. My situation was extreme, but Hilary fought (endlessly) for the safety and welfare of me and my kids. She is committed to her clients and has the expertise and experience to provide outstanding representation. You will not find another more capable or dedicated to navigating you through this process. She is amazing!

Hillary is an amazing attorney! She kept me updated with every aspect of my divorce case. She is upfront from the beginning about the process and timeline. Hillary is thorough and professional, as well as kind and personable.

I hired Hilary to complete a Marriage Settlement Agreement that I had started on my own with several failed attempts to satisfy the courts. Although we had been separated for six years, it was still a scary road to travel having gone through a bad divorce previously. Hilary was up front and did not choose sides. She let us know the complete process and what could or could not happen. The process was painless and Hilary was dead-on accurate as to results and dates. I would recommend hiring Hilary should you unfortunately have to make the ultimate decision to end a marriage.

HIlary Boyer has an amazing grasp of family law. She was spot-on with guiding the direction of my case which brought a conclusion that I believe was truly in the best interest of our family. Her breadth of knowledge supported our family by implementing safeguards and step-ups to protect the health of my family. She was able to strike a balance for all involved while navigating tricky family dynamics all the while advocating for safety and best interest of the children. I was especially impressed with her knowledge of mental health issues and how to implement protective measures. She was always professional, competent, supportive, and helped build my confidence to stand on my own and move forward with healthy boundaries. I wholeheartedly recommend her service and abilities.

I called Hilary and WOW. She took the time to clearly explain options that my client had and was able to set up a consultantion that led to me looking like a rockstar for introducing my client to her. I also learned so much in a minute call about options when things blow up and you aren't even sure if you want to divorce or separate... I can't reccomend Hilary enough. Not only is she incredibly knowledgeable and professional: she is also compassionate and that is HUGE for dealing with people at such tumultuous times in their life.

I have been using Hilary and Stan since October of 2012 after my divorce(that my ex husband and myself did on our own) was finalized but then we started to not see eye to eye on our child custody visitation. They came recommended from a good family friend. From the first meeting with the two of them they have never let me down. Hilary is who I started to mainly deal with and still go to this day if I need advice on something pertaining to my daughter. I was and still am amazed at how well she continues to remember all of the details of our case. I know that she will always be in my corner if I have any issues or need to go back to court for any reasons. She shows compassion and really does care about her clients and the best decisions for them. I know she cares about my daughters well being and that puts my mind at ease. Where do I start. I never do Yelp reviews but I think Stan & Hilary deserve this (the least I can do). I have been divorced almost 4 years when my ex husband and his new wife turned my life upside down during their spring break visitation with my two daughters. They accused me of child abuse and were keeping my daughters for me. Their lies led to family court to award them temporary legal and physical custody the following day I was attacked by them both and put in the hospital. At this point I needed a lawyer bad. After searching high and low and on a fixed income as a single mother someone referred me here. On Monday April 13th I sat down with Stan and Hilary and went over my history and case. That night my children were in my bed returned to me. Stan and Hilary really cared about my case and in less than 12 hours took action, I knew my money was well spent. I have had many hearings in the past month and they have been on top of each one and really fought for me. The paralegals Robin and Michelle are just as nice and thoughtful as can be. My last (hopefully) hearing is today and I am very confident that I will have a wonderful outcome either way it is so wonderful to have the support and genuine care from this office. I highly recommend them in Any family law issue!

Just like the popular Pharrell song, I'm so happy! My sister referred me to Hilary after she went through a long grueling child custody case. So when I was overwhelmed emotionally, physically, and mentally exhausted with my child's father I knew it was time to do something about it. After my first meeting with Hilary I was definitely a skeptic and wasn't sure if I should handle the stress of "court" by myself or not walking into the meeting. By the end of the meeting I retained Hilary and left very confident and dare I say proud? Best decision I could have possibly made. She is so witty, personable, funny, and has quite a friendly presence about her. I can honestly say I didn't feel like she was trying to soak the life and money from my pockets considering I didn't have much to begin with, which is another reason I'd recommend her. She's willing to work out payments and didn't have an ounce of bitterness about accommodations for me. Don't let those angelic eyes fool ya! She is a tiger and a force to be reckoned with! I could not possibly be MORE happy with end results, all my worries and sleepiness night's worrying was for nothing, in fact I wish I hired her sooner!
