A woman wasn’t paying attention and crashed into us. She first apologized, but said she was in a rush and took off. Over the years, I have hired several attorneys. Most recently, an attorney referred my case to another attorney, Jessica Lehr of Diaz & Lehr LLP. Lehr was up front with me about not being sure was going happen with my case, but she would fight for me. She was very nice and pleasant at all of our meetings and over the phone. If I emailed her, she would typically reply within a few days, which is actually the best communication I have ever had with an attorney. I have learned that law matters take a long time to resolve, so clients have to be patient, which can be very difficult. After a few years, I received a settlement and Lehr’s law office sent out a statement showing what costs they had incurred and that the medical costs still owed were paid, which was very nice. This was the first time I had ever seen such proactive efforts by a law office. In all honesty, I have dealt with more attorneys then I care to admit. I have had attorneys, due to their lack of communication skills, fail to inform me that I needed to be in court. Worse, another attorney had his license suspended. Yet another attorney called me by the wrong name several times—and the list goes on. After going through 4 separate attorneys who would never get back to me and made me feel like I was bothering them every time I called for an update I found Jessica. I was cut off on my motorcycle and even after an admission from defendant in front of officer and a witness that said it was defendants fault I was having a terrible time collecting. The police put in his report that I "fell off" my motorcycle. I was at the end of my rope with frustration.
