Being the parent of a special-needs child has many challenges. We've watched with wonder & delight our own's progress & development. As that child reaches legal age, however, consideration must be taken to protect the adult-child when he/she cannot adequately do so due to limitations from disabilities. As we began to share our concerns with Joan Rettinger she began to assist us in developing several legal scenarios that would provide our soon-to-be adult-child with legal protection and dignity to continue developing as an individual. She carefully walked us through the legal terms and explained each to assist us in understanding the various laws that would help us provide protection for our child under the law. She provided countless hours of research and expertise on the subject matter, allowing we, the parents, to proceed in our next chapter with our child. We are very grateful for having Joan Rettinger as a legal advisor that demonstrates both knowledge and compassion for her clients.

Joan thoroughly reviewed and explained the two different trusts we are having to deal with. Her advice made sense and helped us understand what we need to do to follow the requirements of the trusts and maintain quality of life for the family members that are left.
