I found Michael to be very professional, knowledgeable and efficient. I liked the fact that he could explain things to me in Spanish as there were terms that I did not understand in English. I would highly recommend his services due to his ability to work thru the legal issues in a timely manner.

I would like to clear the air and say...as the client of this firm and what my attorney was working with, I feel as though she did her absolute best given circumstances. I think what my mother is referring to (Daphne Miller) is how insanely overpriced this lawfirm is for the overall product I received. $ 18,000 for 2 restraining orders, child support, and custody is... from talking to other lawyers, just crazy. My lawyer fought for me when she could and was always available so I don't feel she is to blame for how this firm charges. Had I known what I know now and how far I still have to go with my divorce I would have definitly gone somewhere else. I was specifically looking for a lawyer who specialized in juvenile defense after my 14 year old nephew got in trouble. I contacted Mr. Hernandez after coming across his name on the internet, left him a voicemail and he called me right back within 10 minutes...Mr. Hernandez patiently listened as I explained the situation and he told me that he personally knew the public defender tasked to represent my nephew. Michael explained that if he were to take on the case, it may create an appearance of ethical conflict since his lawyer wife, also a public defender, works alongside the lawyer representing my nephew. Because of the perceived ethical conflict, Michael did not feel comfortable representing my nephew but offered to be an advisor on the case, gratis! Being that he would not be compensated, I did not expect much out of Michael. But boy was I wrong! Michael went above and beyond, my expectation. He recommended that we continue with the public defender assigned to the case and assured me that this gentlemen was a very good lawyer and that he would provide more than an adequate defense. At my request, Michael spoke with a number of people and spent a few hours discussing our case with them and he assured me that my nephew's case was in good hands and that I should not worry. And he did all this without asking for ANY compensation. Michael's show of honest empathy during this very challenging time for my family has restored my confidence in humanity in general, and lawyers in particular. In the area of juvenile defense, Michael is, without any doubt, a shining beacon and I would strongly recommend him to anyone looking for good legal representation.

Michael really helped us out threw hard time. He had all the answers to each question me and my fiance had. We have never been in a position like the one we are in now and Michael provided us with the information and council we needed to move forward.

He basically made 3 court appearances and wrote a few emails and I guess to him he is entitled to $3,800 of my money. OUTRAGEOUS! He has in fact made my criminal case WORSE than it was before I hired him. He's a little coward if a weasel in my book and unless you want to pay a schmuck to do absolutely nothing then go ahead and be my guest. You are warned. The reviews this guy has on avvo are from his 'buddies'. Lol for real. YOUVE BEEN WARNED!

I found contreras law just by what google had offered when I searched for a lawyer that deals with family law and bankruptcy, from the first time I called them and until now they have been more than helpful and they are the most patient understanding lawyers that I have ever dealt with!
