When I think about what is important to me in finding an attorney is not only one who will fight for you. You must be able to trust your attorney and know they are listening to your needs Divorce can be very scary I knew my life would be totally reconstructed. But if you hire Julia, you are in a safe pair of hands. Julia Garwood was a competent, thoughtful and safe pair of hands for my divorce. Plus, she is widely respected by others in the legal community. You might not see that as important. IT IS! She was always one step ahead in the strategy department and she was always concerned that I got the best use of my money in regard to attorney fees. She did not respond to superfluous issues, Julia stays focused on the points of law, not the emotional issues, which is what a great attorney does. I don’t think anyone wins in a divorce, but with Julia’s guidance, I walked into a new life with hope and optimism. I got a fair settlement under the law. My future is secure thanks to Julia Garwood!

Julia Garwood was recommended to me by my personal attorney in Washington D.C. Julia is an outstanding and dedicated attorney. I found her competent, realistic and an advocate. Julia was lawyer for my daughter in divorce case. We find her satisfactory. She gets rough and tough also when the opposite party does not cooperate. Overall: Julia, Rebekah, Johana, Sandra all are very strong team.

Stellar! I was lucky to find Janiffer Pearce at the Garwood Family Law and Mediation during a very precarious and vulnerable time in my divorce proceedings that involved international communications and intricacies given that my ex was from abroad. Janiffer Pearce was my representing attorney and she was stellar in every way possible. This is an easy review to write since I had such a great experience with Julia and her team. I started out with a different firm and that attorney was honorable... he was a liar, a cheat and would have taken me for everything I had. Luckily, I found Julia Garwood... she was a great listener, experienced and offered great advice and suggestions. It was like working with a friend that really cared. Her fees were fair and reasonable and I was only charged for true time spend on my case. You are reading these reviews just like I did, I was looking for someone I could trust and could count on. Julia under promised and over delivered and made the whole divorce process very easy.

Divorce is a life-changing event. I often felt like a foreigner where I did not speak the language. I needed someone who was experienced, who could help me navigate the unknown and could settle my case. Julia was recommended to me by someone who went through an equally arduous divorce. Julia and her staff were capable of handling everything in my case—from the simplest to the most contentious. It was my experience that Julia initially tried to settle case but my ex husband kept taking unreasonable positions that were contrary to law. Nothing got past Julia. She maintained a high degree of ethics, which was very important to me considering my ex’s attorney was spending his money like there was an endless well he could draw from. Julia addressed this issue, amongst many in court, and I stood next to her, very appreciative to have such a great advocate on my side. Julia plays it cool in court, until it counts—switching into a highly aggressive advocate when needed. Our case prevailed, and Julia’s firm helped me put the awful litigation in the past and move forward. She also was able to get my ex to pay attorney fees, which was very important in my case. I would highly recommend Julia Garwood and her firm.

Julia and her staff are wonderful, especially Larisa. I had a somewhat complicated case as my ex to be was in prison at the time. Julia was terrific and I received a more than fair settlement. I have now retained her services again to help with further spousal support problems and I am confident that she again will strive to get me the best outcome possible.

Simply put hiring Julia Garwood was the most costly and foolish mistake that I have ever made. I don't want to get into details because honestly, it still makes me feel like quite the fool. Let's just say, in my experience, Ms Garwood is concerned with one thing and one thing only, taking your money. I just would hate for someone else to fall into the trap that I did. The experience cost me a large sum of money yet it has proven to be costly in so many detrimental ways. I simply have to believe that karma will play its role. Ms. Garwood is pleasantly, which is to say she gets the job done without being icy or overbearing. She took the extra steps to make me feel comfortable. Let's face it, no one really wants to find themselves in a divorce. Ms. Garwood squarely addressed the issues and I found relief and wisdom in her words. Her advice was both excellent and accurate.
