My family and I would like to express our sincere appreciation and gratitude to my lawyer, Randall Page, and his partner, Lisa Wong, for the immediate resolution of my felony domestic violence case resulting in the outcome all in our favor. Upon identifying that my mental health issues played a significant role in the case, their team immediately gathered all necessary psychiatric records and personally contacted my psychiatrist and requested her to prepare a report containing all pertinent details as required by the court in order to divert my case from criminal to mental health. The report was submitted and the petition for mental health diversion was granted at my next court hearing without any opposition from the DA. The team of Randall and Lisa always kept me informed about the status of my case at all times. They are never too busy to respond to my texts, emails, or phone calls, not mentioning they get the same thing from a number of my family members as well, and they too receive prompt responses every time. For us, this is HUGE! We are blessed to have Randall and Lisa on our side. It didn’t take too long for me to realize that I’m in good hands! Randall and Lisa, on behalf of my entire family, thank you very much from the bottom of our hearts...

At the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, I was involved in a domestic violence criminal matter. As a 42 year old well-educated and accomplished woman, I never imagined I would even be associated with a criminal case. I was so overwhelmed and traumatized, I felt completely paralyzed. My friend recommended Lisa Wong after reading some of her reviews online. Lisa stood out among the sea of criminal attorneys because of her experience, intelligence, knowledge, empathy, and strong character. I admittedly have unreasonably high expectations. Lisa is such an extraordinary attorney, she managed to exceed my expectations! She earned my trust after having just a few discussions about my case. The reality is, I was facing The possibility of spending 6 months in jail. As a single mother of 3 year old twins, I was so consumed with fear, I could barely function. I would highly, highly recommend Lisa Wong to anyone who needs an elite criminal defense attorney! Not only is Lisa well-respected among her peers, she is also respected by Judges and prosecutors. Since she has such a pristine reputation, she was able to resolve my criminal matters without having to go to trial. Consider yourself extremely fortunate if you are able to have Lisa Wong on your side!

I am so glad I hired Lisa! She is absolutely amazing! I live in another state, but I had an old felony possession stolen property with another misdemeanor there in San Diego. Lisa was able to reduce the felony and expunge both in less than 30 days. She wastes no time! She communicated with me throughout the entire process and answered every question I had. She worked with my budget and even did extra work regarding a dv case which she was able to get expunged for me as well! She has helped me put the past behind me and move on from my mistakes. Hire Lisa, you will be so glad you did!!

I have just gone through the worst period of my life. I was a victim of falsely accused for sexual abuse and DV from my spouse when a divorce was imminent. While the criminal case became inactive after investigation, the civil Restraining Order case was filed against me. At one point of my case I really felt hopeless that I could possibly go through all of these. Lisa was the second attorney in my case. I cannot stress to you enough how important it is to hire an attorney with experience trying DV cases. Liza is tremendously skilled and efficient and most importantly, she has a wealth of experience trying domestic violence cases; stays focused on critical issues, well-prepared for court hearing. Weather you are falsely accused or not, you absolutely need an expert like Lisa. Trust me. If it wasn't for her it's entirely possible RO against me could have been granted for something I absolutely did not do. Thanks to Lisa, the RO against was dennied and I have my life back.

After recently getting my 2nd dui and crashing my car I had the privilege of meeting Lisa Wong. She helped me with my insurance case and court case. I had no problems getting a hold of her and felt like I was kept in the loop through the whole process. Professional, diligent and trustworthy summarize how I felt how she approached my case. I would recommend her to any family and friends that find themselves on the wrong side of the law. Thank you Lisa for all your hard work!

My wife of 25 years filed a restraining order against me. I am in my seventies, a retired surgeon, and have never had this kind of legal issue. Ms. Keegan did not start by evaluating my ability to pay but instead listened, clearly comprehended my situation, and agreed to take my case. She is a Jurist with the added outstanding qualities of organization, problem-solving, laser focus, attention, and retention of details, and she responds and adapts to changing circumstances with composure. Her patience elevates her to the highest levels of professionalism, coupled with her analysis, writing, and persuasion skills, will give you great comfort that you are represented by the best.

I was referred to Anna by a friend. I needed some legal forms written up and gone over with me. I was also in somewhat of a hurry. Anna was very thorough in explaining everything to me and she was extremely hardworking. She had the forms ready for me in half the time the other attorneys said it would take. She was also very knowledgable in the matter at hand which made me feel safe and protected. I am very thankful for Anna and if you need legal help she is the best.

I needed a few things taken care of legally and I really didn't know where to start. Anna was so knowledgable about exactly what I needed to do and how she could help me. I was calling her with questions all the time and she was always so helpful and kept telling me to call her if I had any other questions! I recommend Anna to all my friends and family anytime someone needs legal advice as she is the best attorney I have come across.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of San Diego, California?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
