This is one of the most unethical lawyers I have ever encountered. He regularly circumvents the law to evict people without ever presenting the truth to a Judge. I totally understand that there are instances where people have to be evicted but Daniel Bornstein violates legal and ethical regulations to remove tenants and makes a mockery of our judiciary. I personally was ignored and information was kept from me. I left a dozen or more messages and he even hung up on me once when I managed to get through. He lied to the judge. He even altered the address on a property in order to deceive the Sherriff and evict immediately before a Court appearance was scheduled. He knew that if a judge saw DBI's order prohibitting eviction (or the collection of rent), he could not remove the tenant. Perhaps worst of all, he volunteers with the AIDS Legal Referral Panel.and plays both sides. How can he ethically settle a matter representing both sides at once? Unfortunately, attorney misconduct claims were not being investigated at the time and he was not disciplined for his overtly illegal activities (see the statement from Jeff Dunn in the Wall Street Journal for more information about the scandal involving attorney misconduct claims). This man has no business practicing law and is a disgrace to the legal profession.

Known as the "serial evictor" lawyer of SF. What more needs to be said for lawyers like this?
