So my review could take up at least a couple of pages, and without going into detail's, here is my situation and outcome with Jonah Chew. I had racked up multiple DUI cases and another felony case within a 12 to 15 month period, and I was going to PRISON, no way around that. I was already on SFAPD probation and I was calling law firm's all over the Bay Area, to get myself out of this bad situation I created, and finally called Jonah Chew. I needed a lawyer who knew SF criminal law, and who had a reputation that was respected by his fellow colleagues, and prosecutors alike, because I was hoping only for a lenient deal, because dismissal was out of the question. Well guess what? I got a few dismassal's (Unreal), and a minor probation violation out of the whole ordeal that lasted the better part of a year in court, and I couldn't have had a better outcome. He know's everyone at the Hall of Justice, and that comes in handy if your up against the rope's in Superior Court, and need someone to fight for you, and his reputation speak's for itself. TAKE MY ADVICE, don't WALK, you need to RUN to his office, if you have a court date, because he is the most aggressive, respected, and no nonsense lawyer I have ever encountered. Take my advice, and thank me later, because he will do, the undoable, and get you the best outcome, of your legal situation. I really can’t say how much this guy saved me from a clear cut prison sentence, and both myself, and my wife are truly grateful for his knowledge and expertise in criminal law, especially DUI, and I can’t express that more to you.

Although I prefer to not go into specifics, I am compelled to share my experience with the great expertise, support and service I received from Jonah on my case. He guided me the whole way for nearly nine months until my case was dismissed. With the judge's dismissal of my case and the overall ease I experienced during this stressful time, I can say I am very grateful for Jonah's services and sincerity that made the whole thing very much easier to navigate!

If you are in need of a real Defense Attorney not just take your money and plea you out, then there is no other choice, period.

Horrible lawyer, he denied to represent me in my DMV case and had asked for more money when in our contract it said he would. All he cared for was for more money and will argue with you about simple things. He was completely unprofessional and a very bad lawyer. His helper Jessica will not fight for you. The state did not charge me but Jonah charged me pretty good for nothing. I lost my license for more than a year. Be careful with Chew, He will only chew up your bills.

Jonah is a PHENOMENAL lawyer. Sometimes, good people find themselves in a tough situation. DUIs happen and when they do, they are costly, time-consuming and down-right scary as hell. My husband was charged with a second DUI involving an accident with two other motorists in SF. Luckily, no one was hurt, but he was still facing felony charges (with jail time) for having a high BAC and committing a second offense while just being shy of completing the probation period from his first DUI. We called Jonah after reading rave reviews, and can 100% say that Jonah *is* the lawyer you're looking for. RESULTS: My husband's case was dropped from a felony to a misdemeanor. He spent three days doing SWAP and avoided any jail time. He was able to drive again, sooner than expected (with an IID.) My husband's employer never found out about his DUI because Jonah coordinated his monthly court dates with his days off. We are currently looking into reducing his probation requirements now that his DUI school has been completed. This is only possible if you hire a GREAT lawyer. HOW JONAH'S DIFFERENT: - he works *directly* with you and your case - he is *very* responsive (via phone, text and email) - he has a great personality - is honest and genuinely cares about you, and funny too - he knows to share just enough with you regarding your next court date to keep you calm and collected.... he will guide you throughout your process so you can try to live as normal of a life until your case is settled - his appearance is sharp, clean and he has the mental toughness you need to win in court - and more importantly, he is one of the most well-connected criminal defense lawyers in SF. He knows the judges, public defendants and the system very, very well. Ask any one of them and they will speak of him in high regard. WHAT YOU NEED TO DO: - listen to what Jonah says and just do it. If you need to live in a residential treatment program to not only fix a problem that you may have, do it and go above and beyond. It'll be good for you personally, and the results of your case. - You will be shooting yourself in the foot if you pass on hiring Jonah. Whether it be your first, second or third DUI, Jonah knows his craft very well. Months after our case was finished, we happened to run into Jonah at a ballgame and he gave us two big hugs. (It was great seeing him outside of his suit.) If you can't already tell by all the reviews, he's practically Superman. Back in NY, we'd say he's "one, helluva guy." We are grateful for him. We don't write reviews, but created Yelp accounts just so we can write one for Jonah. Hope this review helps someone who's on the fence.

Mr Chew gave me legal advice at a time when I was unsure of what next steps I needed to take. While I did not eventually require legal representation, if I had I would have retained Mr Chew with every confidence that he would have represented me fairly and with full compentence. Thank you!

This was my first experience with an attorney and from the start Jonah laid out his plan of defense and made sure I was actively engaged for the entire process. I was falsely charged with a felony and he made sure that I was always well informed about the steps he was taking to fight this charge. Overview: It is in your best interest to choose Jonah Chew! This review is for Jonah Chew. This was our family's first experience with a lawyer. With so many options and the difficult circumstances of the case, it seemed daunting to settle for ONE attorney to advocate for our family member. Based on a combination of Jonah's experience and education, track record, professionalism, and personality we trusted him as the most qualified for the best outcome; we do not regret our decision! Jonah guided us through the entire process, giving us invaluable advice and instilling confidence even before we officially hired him. Jonah is very reliable and responsive; you'll never have to wait long to hear back from him through phone, text, or email. The Case: Multiple DUI's... This 2nd DUI, within a 10-year period, resulted in an auto-collision. Our family member had a (potential) 3rd DUI that fell out of the 10-year period, but nonetheless was unfavorable as it is still on the driving record. The Outcome: A Very Favorable Sentence... Jonah and his team achieved the most favorable sentence considering the circumstances. In lieu of jail time and a hefty fine, the sentence included: 8 days of community service, a reasonable fine, completion of an 18-month OHS program, and license suspension (unavoidable) for just 1 year. Note: Jonah also successfully negotiated the removal of an expensive alcohol-monitoring (SCRAM) device.
