I consulted with Jim Hoover to explain to me my options regarding my impending divorce. He laid everything out for me in a very thoughtful, logical manner. I especially appreciate his kindness and the integrity that he displayed throughout the process. This is most unprofessional experience I had with this firm. Most senior partner recruit new client and thereafter get dumped to an associate and barely any involvement from partner. No follow-through what they said they will do. I found out my associate made commitments to my other party and I wasn't not even aware of it.... THIS WAS MY REASON TO FIRE THEM WITH IMMEDIATE EFFECT!. Their interest is to charge billable and keep the matter dragging. For simple house appraiser they spent hours of works whereas cost of the appraiser was $225 (cost to my attorney was beyond imagination). I dealt with Julia and Travis in this firm and felt that they have big words to use like strategy and execution didn't happened. Few times things went wrong and I was extremely disappointed but partner made no effort to understand the frustration dealing with their firm. Julia never listened to me and follow-through and felt cannot trust her (gave more than 2 chance before firing this firm). More than once I have caught is making up the stuff to cover-up their mess-up during my conversation relating to my case. Even dealing with their billing dept I have experience she promise to reverse of the charges due to service issue and new done anything about it, after I brought this to their attention, they out-rightly don't remember promising this. Travis is a great talker but without any action. He as a partner never reads and respond any email and he has no fear saying he doesn't have time to read his email (why to take new clients if you cannot respond) and needed to make 5 follow-up before he can respond. His response was he doesn't have to read emails... totally unprofessional but I believe they in ally for longer to keep up this attitude. ANYWAY THIS IS ENOUGH OF EVERYTHING!!! Absolutely, terrible experience and will suggest to stay away as they're after your money and business. I feel they're also taking emotional advantages of people so that they're billable meter is running. I spend so much money and don't feel I got 10% worth of work but of course this is a losing battle when you're already going through your emotional state.

Divorce and marriage are life changing events and it would be foolish not to get the best counsel available. Hoover Krepelka provided free counsel that helped friends of mine to do the right thing when they got married; and now both are fully aware of the contract they entered in together. My neighbor turned to Hoover Krepelka when she realized she is not getting what she and her children deserved. She told me that finally! somebody is actually listing to her and fighting for her and her children's rights. February 2020, Travis Krepelka is one of the finest lawyer with ethics and principles. I would not hesitate to use them again or refer them to friends and family. My attorney is Jim Hoover (a bulldog in the courtroom) but there are other attorney's in the office that are really good too so you are sure to find someone that fits your needs and personality style. I have known Travis since 2007 when I started working with Bob Hoover's firm in my divorce case. He was a junior attorney that time who handled all aspects of my complex custody case. His through professionalism, prompt action and meticulus handling of all paperwork always impressed me. He is an excellent creative writer, whose carefully drafted legal paperwork with lots of deep legal research work and citations make a huge difference in contested divorce case like mine, I think. He was my second attorney. With of his diligence and thorough knowledge of all aspects of family law, he turned around my case and got me due results in a highly contested and lengthy legal battle. I wish I had him from the beginning of case. Since 2007, I was witness to Travis's very fast and steady rise as a very able family law attorney in bay area. No wonder he soon became a partner of his firm in 4-5 years. Even though my case was resolved with his help much before, I had to use his services again in 2012 for a pending matter in my case that finally went to trial. I was very much impressed with his deft and extremely mature handling of the long trial session -- once again with thorough professionalism. He not only won the trial and obtained the desired result (that involved a foreign travel with my child) for me against stiff challenges from the other side (with battery of expert lawyers at multiple stages), he successfully removed all legal obstacles later on very effectively. In my opinion, he is now a complete family law attorney, who not only deals with all aspects of a complex legal case very professionally including trials, he has a unique style and legal maturity at a young age that even the seasoned attorneys and judges appreciate. Of course, all good things come with a price tag and he is costly. But, every penny is worth when he takes up a matter and brings results. I will definitely recommend him to my friends.
