2018, Brother In Law gets himself into trouble with possession and evading police in San Jose. A year goes by, he and my wife check on case at Sheriffs Office who informs them no warrant and no charges thus far. 2020, he’s pulled over by CHP in another county, lo and behold Santa Clara County has outstanding warrant for this case and he’s given a new court date. I am so grateful to have met Shawn Leuthold, not only is he a highly effective and intelligent business attorney who can handle complex negotiations, but he is one of the most decent and honest people I have ever met. I was in the position of ending a decades long marriage with a long separation, and as the wife of a company owner who had plenty of legal and consulting assistance, I felt rather helpless. At the same time, I was not after an acrimonious divorce, which I seemed headed for with most of the attorneys I interviewed. Shawn guided me through an extremely complex dissolution involving not only the unforeseen purchase of the company with international obligations and complex taxes, but also the heart wrenching and sudden sale of the family home due to loans and outstanding company debts. He also oversaw the equitable division of company stock and resulting future payouts.
