Patricia Mendez was extremely helpful along the way with any questions that I had. The process was smooth, and I just received my debt settlement confirmation, and am so relieved that I no longer have this issue following me. I came across this firm when I was browsing "best lawyers in orange county and LA county.. the very first phone call I made with them was a very pleasant one.. they gave me all the options and the risks and benefits of filing bankruptcy versus debt consolidation. I found myself dealing with a judgement and wage garnishment, Fitzgerald & Campbell explained to me what my options were on how to settle and get myself out of this situation. I was supplied and guided on how to fill out proper paperwork and never once had to deal with said creditor myself, Fitzgerald & Campbell did all of the communication between myself and the creditor. I can't thank Fitzgerald & Campbell enough (especially Patricia!) For negotiating a settlement I could pay in full and put this whole ordeal behind me. Updated to my initial review: after posting our initial review, the law firms other partner Greg Fitzgerald reached out to me to discuss. He was quite reasonable, empathetic to our situation, and was more than fair in compromising on an amount to be refunded. Originally I gave a low score but after my conversation with Greg I change my review to 5 star. Sometimes things don’t work out and that’s ok, but being fair and willing to compromise shows humility and your humanity. My recommendation is to work with Greg if possible but if not I know he’s there to make sure everything is alright. Thank you Greg for working with us (even though you didn’t have to and we had no recourse) especially during these difficult times when we needed it the most. Original review: Signed with them for their services but canceled within like 48 hours because we went in another direction. They did no more than an hour of work (and even then it was answering basic questions about the process I could’ve found on YouTube) and kept our entire deposit of $1k. I asked for partial refund since they didn’t really do anything and they said it was earned which we felt it was not - it was very unfair and not right.

Terrible experience!! They terminated me as a client when I requested to speak with an actual attorney. I was dealing with a paralegal the whole time and never seemed aggressive with my case. Just kept sending them letters and couldn’t bring them down to settle. They keep your money after they drop you just like that. Do not waste your time or money !!

About 6 years ago, I unexpectedly lost half of my income. I had previously taken out a personal loan mostly to help my brother's family relocate after losing their home to foreclosure. I later found myself unable to make the loan payments, and the lender threatened to sue me. I found Fitzgerald & Cambell by researching online, and I am so glad I did! They provided me with an easy way to gradually pay for their services, keep the lender at bay, and at the same time gradually save enough in a trust fund with small monthly payments to accumulate enough money to make a settlement offer. The entire process went on for two years, and after a new intent by the lender to sue, I was able to let Fitzgerald & Campbell settle the debt for less than 10% of what was owed! This Firm was so easy and nice to work with. They kept me informed, never pressured me, and let me pay what I could easily afford over time. I highly recommend Fitzgerald & Cambell--I truly don't know how I would have managed without them!
