My case was a credit card debt. I was sued in another state, they tried to enter the judgment in California. I made an appointment with Fitzgerald and Campbell, they explained to me the meaning of the law suit and made all research about the case and prepared a perfect strategic for the case and We WON. Then they appealed and We WON again. Let me tell you. You are in the BEST HANDS an Excellent law firm.

Greg has helped us so much with a really bad situation we were in. I can't even believe I am saying this about an attorney (no offense to attorneys but...) he is actually caring, helpful, and honest. He spent so much time listening to our circumstances and answering questions before we even retained him. I was so impressed by his knowledge and honesty, and compassion for our dire situation. He does not BS, sugar coat things, or make false promises, he is the real deal. If you are like me and look at reviews before hiring an attorney, I want you to know there is a reason why he has such great ratings on multiple review platforms, which is also why I called him in the first place. Hope this review helps someone find a great attorney when they need one!

I found Attorney Fitzgerald of Fitzgerald Campbell, APLC after a simple web search and decided to give his office a call for their free consultation. I had lost my father the year prior and was working my way through severe depression so all my bills had suffered during that time and I was truly overwhelmed by trying to figure things out. The reception was courteous and patient during my initial phone call and all subsequent calls for that matter. I quickly received a return call from Attorney Fitzgerald and we began my initial free consultation. Between the fear, anxiety and stress of my situation, Attorney Fitzgerald was great at keeping me calm and truly hearing me out. Even with my financial situation being shaky, he was reassuring that he would do all he could to help me through it and "we" would work it out. He was very clear on what I needed to do from my side so that he could help me in the best way possible. He answered any and all questions without hesitation and even offered answers to questions I didn't realize I had! The communication with the case managers was and remains clear, concise and quick. Any time I needed some information, they were there. Adam Jauregui and Fabiola Parkerson were great about working within my budget to get started on my cases. Even when I fell behind in my retainer fees due to hard times and moving, they worked with me to get everything on track again. Never once did I feel judged, rushed or pushed into any decision regarding my cases. April Inlow and Sam Foster have been great with keeping me informed about the status of my cases and the honest opinions they had regarding what my options were for my next move in any given situation. I have recently settled the first case and April was great in making sure I was able to get the most realistic payment option within my limits. She communicated with me every step of the way. This is simply an excellent office to work with. I would recommend them to anyone.

This is my second time using Greg Fitzgerald. I had an debt issue with Portfolio Recovery Associates (Sears) about $ 1134.00 in credit card debt. Greg and his legal assistant Sam Foster worked on getting a settlement resolved. Both and Greg and Sam had got right on the matter. I was in good hands. I had question about being served (Saturday), Greg responded to his email on a Saturday to following up with me on upcoming Monday. Not too many lawyers follow up until the next business day. My settlement took 6 months, but I was also in pre-litigation. Sam Foster made sure to up me updated on a weekly to bi-weekly basis on any communication from creditor. It was also Sam's suggestion to settle for $650 instead of $785.00. I learned a lot from this experience. Overall, I was happy with my settlement based on what I could afford. I will continue to Greg Fitzgerald and his services. Thank you Greg and Sam!

I want to thank the law offices of Christopher McCann and for helping me out with my DUI case. Him and his staff are very well prepared and know exactly what they are doing. As soon as I decided to go with Mr. McCann he had a game plan and sprung into action. The competition was asking for me to speak to their secretary and to send them emails overall just too many things. If you hire Christopher that is who you are going to get a one on one experience with your lawyer. What I really liked about my Chris and his team is that they always kept me in the loop with anything that happened in my case. Over all 10/10 experience I would definitely recommend him if you want a good experienced lawyer. He was able to get my DUI case dismissed.

I was referred to Jennifer by a close friend of mine after she got her a very good settlement. I hired her to represent me on my Workers compensation case and she was really detailed in explaining everything to me and was very attentive to me as well. I highly recommend her for her knowledge of Workers Compensation and injured workers rights, she definitely goes above and beyond for her clients. I am very happy that I found an attorney that was always on my side.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Santa Ana, California?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
