I was fortunate enough to find Mr Fakhim. He is very knowledgeable and informative, after working with 2 others attorneys prior to him who failed my case he explained the situation to me used his talent and my case dismissed. I highly recommend Mr Fakhimi,if you’re looking for honest attorney and not just someone who wants your money. I’m forever grateful for what he did for my life! You can’t go wrong with this attorney.

This group of professionals helped me clear out the way DISMISSED all together thank God!! an old case which had long prevented me from moving forward in my immigration status. I am now a US citizen thanks to Mr. Fakhimi and his team to God's glory. My review is long overdue but I will be recommending them to a friend who needs help with a family member who is incarcerated.

A couple years ago, I had my previous employer fire me based on my health. I immediately reached out to Houman and his team and they welcomed my case. It was a long journey, but Houman and his team kept in contact with me consistently. I even was able to text him, often, asking about any updates from his end. He always kept me in the loop and I was never a step behind. His paralegals also were amazing. When the case neared its end, they spent a lot of time with me in sorting out through the finalization of my case. I had great faith in them and I would genuinely recommend Houman and his team to anyone. Filing a lawsuit and handling the legalities can be extremely time consuming, but I never had a doubt that I would not see the light at the end of the tunnel and seek justice. Thank you so much, Houman. I appreciate all your hard work.

Hiring Fakhimi &Associates was a life saving experience for my family. After being reunited with my son for only 3 months after a 3 yr prison term, he was once again facing the end of his rope. However, we knew not to make the same mistake again of going with a public defender, and risk never seeing my son in the next decade. We were dealing with one of the toughest Counties in CA, and there didn’t seem much light at the end of the tunnel with this circuit. This time we hired Fakhimi & Assoc. We had prior knowledge of the skills and tenacity of his team, but mistakenly didn’t retain the first time. What a huge mistake. We knew this case was going to require the best in the field. 1 month and 1 day after facing a long list of charges, I picked up my Son and brought him home from custody. The team triaged the case at every milestone, reassuring us that we were indeed in good hands. The prosecution was put to the test with this team, and I ultimately have my Son back with his rights fully in tact, and home for the holidays. This firm delivered results, took the lead, and we ended with the best possible arrangements. Do not trust your loved ones future with another team. This is a VICTORY for my family and yet another win for Fakhimi & Assoc. We are forever grateful - Charlotte (Riverside)

Mr. Fakhimi can add, "Succesfully Represent in Family Court to his credentials as of today!" A year ago our world was turned upside down by certain individuals in our county who I thought were placed there to protect us. On our first court appearance and after reading the allegations againt me. I was advised by the court appointed defender, to seek a criminal laywer who could better represent me. While reseaching for a lawyer and with some divine luck, I found and hired Mr. Fakhimi. He stood by my side against an overwhelmed children's justice system that was looking to throw the books at me on three very serious charges. If convicted, these charges had the potential to destroy my life and divide our family. Fast foward one year...I'm happy to share that just a few hours ago our case was completely dismissed out of court. I am profoundly grateful for the professionalism and appreciative of the time, the effort, the advice, and the representation that were offered by Mr. Fakimi and his fabulous legal team. provided by Mr.Fakhimi and his team.

I want to thank the law offices of Christopher McCann and for helping me out with my DUI case. Him and his staff are very well prepared and know exactly what they are doing. As soon as I decided to go with Mr. McCann he had a game plan and sprung into action. The competition was asking for me to speak to their secretary and to send them emails overall just too many things. If you hire Christopher that is who you are going to get a one on one experience with your lawyer. What I really liked about my Chris and his team is that they always kept me in the loop with anything that happened in my case. Over all 10/10 experience I would definitely recommend him if you want a good experienced lawyer. He was able to get my DUI case dismissed.

I was referred to Jennifer by a close friend of mine after she got her a very good settlement. I hired her to represent me on my Workers compensation case and she was really detailed in explaining everything to me and was very attentive to me as well. I highly recommend her for her knowledge of Workers Compensation and injured workers rights, she definitely goes above and beyond for her clients. I am very happy that I found an attorney that was always on my side.

  4. What is your approach to resolving cases like mine?
Learn about their strategy, whether they prefer negotiation, mediation, or litigation.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Santa Ana, California?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
