Bao Tran is an excellent IP attorney. I have known Bao for over 25 years, since the time he worked at a big IP law firm and I worked at another big law firm in Palo Alto. For over two decades now, many of my clients have relied on Bao for their IP works. Highly recommended.

Bao developed IP portfolio for my start up company Tier Logic over a decade back. We ended up with over 50 issued US patents. We invented a FPGA chip concept that was unique in multiple fronts: a 3D-FPGA, configuration in TFT SRAM memory, a RAM/ROM duality, a Timing-Exact ASIC conversion, and more. We ended with a very strong IP portfolio. Claim languages was excellent. I am planning to use Bao to develop IP (patents & trade-marks) for my new start up company AxPro Semi.

I have worked with Bao for over 7 years and over 140 patent applications of cutting edge semiconductor technologies. Fast, straight forward service. We were a little worried because we had a tight deadline and could not find a lawyer for file for a provisional patent that was going to expire soon in two weeks. We kind of panicked. Out of Luck, we called Tran and Associates. For a price that was lower than what was quoted with other attorneys, we signed up with Tran with blind trust in someone. Not only did he respond the next day with a draft of the patent, and all the claims, and he showed understanding of technology and asked few questions. We had the Patent drafted in literally two days, and had everything to go within a week. We weren't even that ready to patent it too soon, and Tran showed patience and allowed us to take our time in terms of processing. In terms of communication, Tran is as good as it gets - rarely do I ever have to leave a message for Bao (he picks up the phone 95% of the time, and not a secretary!), and in the events he does not pick up the phone, he responds back with a call within an hour in 99% of those cases. That's customer service that I really don't think you can ask from anyone else. Pretty much the same story regarding emails. Bao rarely leaves you hanging on the status. We added things last minute to the patent at times, and he was flexible, and sent us drafts back within the hour. Expertly knowledgeable about number of subjects, I definitely will be back when we draft out next Patent, or any other matter that Bao will be able to help us with!

Mr. Tran was introduced by an associate to me over 12 years ago. As an software developer, I appreciate his ability to translate from a software developers/systems language and terminology into something the patent office will understand. He is capable of working with all of the developers, not just the VP of Engineering. As a business manager and entrepreneur, I appreciate his overall process knowledge and ability to help craft an Intellectual Property strategy that maximizes overall return. I have worked with Mr. Tran now at three companies, and overall had a good number of patents successfully issued.

Bao did a great job putting together the package he worded patent letter very good he seem very experienced , he was able to put together everything I gave them and he asked me all the right questions to put this letter together everything so far has gone as planned I am still waiting to finalize The patent My only issue was that they couldn't find the checks that I sent they have to double check on their filing to find him aside from that everything was a good experience

Bao was able to take some complex issues and build some pretty detailed documents for filing with the US Patent Agency. I think we should have spent more time discussing the details, but all in all everything was done pretty well.
