I have known Jane since 2010. She is an outstanding and knowledgeable estate planning, trust and probate lawyer. She is a "go to" colleague when a client with a complex estate requires estate planning or representation in a probate matter. As a tax lawyer, I can attest Jane possesses an understanding of estate and death taxes that is indispensable for her estate planning clients. Jane's expertise as an estate planning lawyer, coupled with her knowledge of estate and death taxes makes in invaluable when counseling same-sex couples. I was in need of an attorney to create a will and set up a family trust. A friend recommended the firm of Jane Hall and I was impressed with two things right off the bat: 1) I actually met with Jane Hall for every step in the process. I was not just greeted at the door and passed off to an associate. 2) Ms. Hall offered more than just her legal services, she actually listened to what my wife and I had to say and offered sage advice. Jane is an excellent estate planning attorney. I have referred several clients to her, and she has proven herself with each one. Not only will she visit clients at their home, or where ever they are most comfortable, Jane will give the appropriate guidance and prepare the necessary documents. Jane prepared my wife and my trust. She spotted issues that we had not thought about that will save us (or our heirs) grief and money after one or both of us pass. We had put off doing this because it seemed like so much work and, truthfully, because I guess I didn't want to face my mortality. My wife, thankfully, convinced me to do this. Jane helped us plan our estate, not just for after our death, but for our benefit for the rest of our lives. She treats the word "estate" as including the time before our death, not just what to do with our property when we die.
