Julia Parranto , is professional but kind, she took my case after a insurance company said they would not pay my medical bills. They felt if damaged is under 1000 that you can't be hurt. Which believe me is not true when somebody slams into the back of you. after a year and a half we met with other insurance company. Because of her knowledge and the way she presented my case. They paid all my medical Bills. I can't thank her enough. I would also like to thank her assistant Stacy. Thank You again!!! I highly recommend Parranto very honest woman which now days is rare

Ms. Parranto was recommended to me by my bankruptcy attorney after my involvement in a motorcycle collision. Her accomplishments iny case include the following: 1. She obtained the policy limit payouts for me despite the fact that the other car did not hit me or I it. Violating my right-of-way I still avoided impact with his vehicle but struck the ground hard leading to significant injury and a 9 day hospitalization. 2. My covered medical bills were in excess of $100,000. My employer group provider could make claim on the other party insured payout to me up to their out of pocket charges. Ms. Parranto was confident she could at a minimum keep that to no more then 1/3 of my recovery which paid out 5 months after the accident. 8 1/2 months later she released me another 8% of the recovery after concluding negotiations with my health insurer. Ms. Parranto was also a great resource in teaching me about prudent insurance strategies. Ms. Parranto has my unreserved endorsement if you need a PI attorney. Her representation of me was professional. She delivered all she said she would and more. She does not over promise.

Julia Parranto was my lifeline. Before finding Julia I spoke with attorneys who were actually rude or just very abrupt with me and the questions my family and I had. Julia and her staff were very patient and kind, and so reassuring during a time when my entire life had been turned upside down. While I have worked in the legal field for more than 30 years, I have no experience, personally or professionally, in personal injury cases, and felt completely lost and scared. Once I knew Julia was taking care of me legally I was able to concentrate on my recovery, which made all the difference in my healing. She was so knowledgeable, experienced and professional, she achieved better results than I could have imagined. I would absolutely recommend Julia Parranto to everyone!

I was involved in a minor car accident and injured. The at fault driver’s insurance company refused to pay my injury claim, so I went looking for a lawyer to help me pay my medical bills. One attorney vaguely said that my case was not big enough and/or too difficult to prove. Others did not return my calls. Not so with Parranto Law. Julia was happy to meet with me, and did so in a very timely manner. Her office was very welcoming and Julia put me at ease straight away with her humorous, but very professional manner. I found Julia to be direct, intelligent, compassionate, and a good listener. I knew that I had found the right lawyer for me. Even though my lawsuit was relatively small, the whole time I worked with Julia, or any of her staff for that matter, I was treated like an important client with the highest priority. I felt that my little case was really cared about, and that’s a great feeling when you have been abandoned by a big insurance company. I was prepared by Julia and her staff for all phases of the process and Julia was totally on the ball during my deposition. I felt very confident that Julia would be representing me in court, when the time came. It was however, most fortunate that we ended up not having to go to court because Julia negotiated a pre-trial settlement (checking in with me every step of the way), to my complete satisfaction prior to the court date! The service I received from Julia was excellent. I always knew what was going on with my case, e-mails or calls were always promptly responded to, and her assistant was most helpful. My heartfelt thanks to Julia and her team! I feel that she is an honest and good person and have no hesitation in recommending her to anyone looking for a personal injury lawyer.

Joe was highly recommended when I was doing the legwork for a friend in need of an attorney. Not only did he return my call right away, he did so even though he had taken time off for the birth of his child. He was very knowledgeable and skillful, clearly answered every question we had and was such a comfort that he was the first call I made when my son caught his own case not long after. Unfortunately, due to financial reasons, we weren't able to hire Joe for my son but I HIGHLY recommend him to anyone and everyone. At the worst time in my family's life, Joe treated us with empathy and compassion while being realistic and straightforward about our options.

Words can not explain how lucky I was to have found a criminal attorney as good as Joe Rogoway. A situation led to my fiance, my roommate, and myself facing numerous aggrivated felony charges. Joe was my only hope against these aggrivated felony charges. My immigration status in the US was in jeopardy of Deportation, and whole life and future were now at the mercy of the criminal justice system. Joe was extremely educated and experienced with every one of my felony allegations, spanning from felony cultivation, felony possession with intent to distribute and felony possession of a stolen firearm, along with others. He was sensitive to my situation, and even assisted my co-defendants in finding suitable representation. Joe communicated with my immigration attorneys and very professionally navigated the whole fleet through our legal process. Joe was not only successful in getting me the best possible outcome (which most people didn't believe was possible in my situation), but also played the role of my therapist. Joe always found a way to be there for me and communicated with everyone from my attorneys to my family. Over all I truly believe Joe Rogoway is the BEST criminal defense attorney in CA, was underpaid for everything he did for me, and anyone facing criminal charges would be lucky to retain his services.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Santa Rosa, California?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
