Doing a bankruptcy was one of the hardest decisions I’ve made. A lot of anxiety, stress, and having to lay out what I felt were failures. From my first phone call with Mr. Kelly, I felt better about the process. I had credit cards calling and making threats and didn’t even want to open the mail. He just took all the documents and entered all of them on the lists, and he gave me checklists of everything I needed to do. It really was painless, and I a huge weight has been lifted from me. He was very knowledgeable, and I really liked the way he spoke to me. No judgment or tone, and it’s pretty clear he has the same anger at the banks that I have. But what was best is that there was no pressure file right away - he actually recommended I wait and think about it. I spoke with another attorney on the phone and they really tried the pressure sales tactics on me saying that the case had to be filed right now. After talking with Mr. Kelly, and after he explained the issues, it was pretty clear that was not true, and I was felt so much better and comfortable about it. I was referred to Tom Kelly by a close friend, and I am so grateful for his help. I did not want to file bankruptcy, or even if I should. Tom spent a long time with me explaining the process, and he made it very clear and easy to follow. It took a bit to get my case started because I had to get some information to him, but he kept in touch with me and gave me some reminders. Did a chapter 7 which wiped out the mountain of credit card debt I had built up when my hours got cut at work. I always though things would turn around, and tried getting a second job, but it got to the point where I couldn’t even afford the minimum monthly payments. The best part was how Tom explained that bankruptcy is not this giant black mark against you for the rest of your life. I really felt like a failure, and it seems everybody thinks it is, and that’s what the credit card companies want you to think. Forget the stereotypes and lawyer jokes, this attorney is what the profession needs more of! I stumbled into Tom's office penniless, hopeless and literraly broke.
