If you are looking for a criminal attorney, we highly recommend Anita Patel. Our son was charged with two misdemeanor charges. Our immediate family had never experienced issues with the law other than traffic tickets, so we didn’t know what to do. We looked up attorneys on the internet and came across Anita Patel. We chose her because of the good recommendations and her knowledge of the court where the misdemeanors were going to be filed. With Ms. Patel’s knowledge of criminal law, the court system, and hard work, she was able to have the misdemeanors dismissed. All our expectations for the result of the case were exceeded. She is kind which helps when nerves are about to break. She kept us apprised of all the developments of the case. Ms. Patel always made herself available to answer all the questions that our family had during this very difficult period which caused so much tension within our family. Ms. Patel was very patient and genuinely cared about our son and two very worried parents. Thanks to her hard work, my son can continue on with his life without fear of having a criminal record to hinder his future.

I made a pretty dumb mistake over the summer and earned myself a misdemeanor charge while at a concert. I am a hardworking student at a university and did not have so much as a parking ticket on my record. I knew the offense was serious, but I didn't know how serious until I called Anita. I told her my concerns and she explained that it could end up being worse than I thought. She told me that she has handled a few cases like mine before and that she had a plan of action that would give me the best odds of getting my charge reduced. I put together a few letters of recommendation and a short bio of myself explaining that I have no previous record along with a few other positive points. She brought those in front of a prosecutor, who she said would be much more inclined to review a case in more detail than simply presenting it to a judge. Of course, she was right! The prosecutor was impressed with the material and agreed to lower my charge. I cannot thank her enough; she helped me avoid what would have likely been a charge that would have had consequences for quite some time. Through the process, she was never hard to reach and was very responsive to any form of contact by which I tried to reach her. A year ago I was run off the road by a "road-raged" driver who in my view attempted to induce an accident with me. It ended with me trying to evade/pass him but he "gunned it" to block me off and we literally tapped bumpers as I got around him. I feared for my safety and fled the scene thinking that would be the end of it. Nine months later I received a warrant for my arrest in the mail! I couldn't believe that this was happening, and I called Anita Patel for a free consultation. She was out of town but sent a colleague to meet me on my court date. The warrant was cleared and court dates were set. She then took over and did what she could to try minimize my penalties. It was too late for me to file my side of the police report, and having left the scene I was assumed guilty by insurance companies! Both the courts and police had failed to contact me until the warrant letter I got, by which time the "victim" had had his car repaired to the tune of over $3000! Note: never leave the scene of an accident, or lock your car and call the police on someone who runs you off the road if there is ANY contact between vehicles. Anita understood my story, and did her best to contact the victim who of course stayed away from her calls. Having had a prior DUI seven years ago, although expunged, did not help my case. On paper, the court assumes guilt (and intoxication) if you leave the scene of a "hit and run"---so the best I could do is trust Anita to get this behind me with the least painful outcome. I had to pay a fine and got two points on my driving record, but she sized up the prosecutors well and knew how to speak to them with respect and professional understanding. I believe Anita to be honest, intelligent and concerned for her clients. She knows criminal law and although I hope to never require her services again, if you should, I can only recommend her highly.

I couldn't recommend Anita any more highly! She did an amazing job and she is an absolute gem - she is a sincerely good person who is fantastically good at what she does. Anita handled my case earlier this month and I couldn't be happier with the results. She was thorough and professional, and best of all extremely easy to get in contact with. After speaking with the prosecutor she was able to arrange an alternative program with easy, minimal requirements and an extended period of time with which to take care of them. Upon completion my case was DISMISSED entirely!
