In my opinion, words can not express the horror that I encountered once I broke down and engaged the services of the Law Office of Robert Baskin. First, I learned he backdated our employment contract so he could charge me almost $3,000 in consultation fees. Now I learn after publishing my story on a variety of web sites, that there are at least a dozen other people who suffered similar fates, and that they too have filed complaints with the State Bar of California. At the time I considered hiring BASKIN, my twin-sister had died suddenly. To make matters worse, COVID19 isolated me (and so many others) from the world. Without my twin-sister to help advise me, I was lost. She had warned me as executor of her estate, I would be dragged to the bowels of hell by her greedy relatives; but fortunately, a friend was able to secure an incredible attorney who I would recommend 100 times over. However, like for so many others, life did get worse – suddenly my best friend of thirty (30) years died. Then I learned the Lodge I had joined for support was now asking me to perpetrate financial crimes, and was also engaged in discrimination against the LGBT community and people of color. Now I had to look for yet another attorney. I was barely holding up. Finally I was referred to Robert Baskin. After insisting that I send him 100's of documents to evaluate my case, he insisted that I had a great case, and to give him $25,000 to start with. What he failed to reveal was he would need another $200-$300,000 to fully pursue the case. Most importantly when an attorney with firm left, I was asked by Baskin if I wanted to stay with him. I agreed — on the terms that the case had to be filed before he spent more than $10,000 of my money. Within a month he spent $25,000 and wanted more. I was near suicide. I had been lied to again. I would never, ever, ever recommend this man until you have researched all of his “recommendations” and asked the other people who filed complaints against him too.

If you want to end up broke, go ahead and seek representation from this law firm. They pulled a horrible number on me and are now coming after a house that I haven't even place my name under. They are charging me over $14,000 for a " Will" & restraining order " I" filled and had served. Judge in the case decided it was just a family dispute. So after they kept their $4,200,00 retainer, from a simple restraining order, he is coming after said property I had him help me draw up a "WILL" for his own interest. They knew I had limited funds when I seeked his help and is taking advantage. So my WILL was made for them...THEY POST THEIR OWN COMMENTS.. Regarding The Law Office of Robert M. Baskin and staff. Above and beyond our expectations, unquestionably the most positive experience ever with an Attorney!!!  Why? Robert provided invaluable aide and service to our family during a most difficult and sensitive time during the Probate of our lost loved one while honoring their last wishes.  We found him to be extremely attentive, responsive and detailed driven to find the facts in our case. I could email him day or night and If it was important we always recieved a quick response not days later, often within minutes. Most impressive of all is we were out of state and afraid no one would help us and that we would be taken advantage of, since we were not local.  We were WRONG!  Robert offered to appear personally on our behalf to take the burden of travel, loss of work and wages. We accepted his offer with confidence, knowing he would advocate for our best interest and in the best interest of the Estate.   Although we feel that Robert charged us a reasonable fee for our case, what impressed us was the value we received for the fees we paid.  He is worth every penny and more.   So it is without reservation and sincere appreciation we would like to recommend Attorney Robert Baskin with his dedicated fabulous staff to all in the Ventura County area in the state of California.  As well as Nationally for any who need representation and a advocate in Ventura County. The legal assistance provided to me by the Law Office of Robert M. Baskin was knowledgeable, professional, timely, and sensitive in a very difficult and emotional time. Robert went above and beyond all my expectations, and was dedicated to making sure my mothers wishes were carried out. All of this was accomplished courteously and honestly against aggressive and unscrupulous opposition. Robert personally put in extra effort to kept my interests forefront. Mr. Baskin provides the best estate plans in the state! My husband and I hired the Law Office of Robert M. Baskin to prepare our estate plan and Mr. Baskin far exceeded our expectations. We had an existing estate plan that we needed to update. Mr. Baskin prepared a Certification of Trust, a Trust, Wills, Durable Power of Attorney and a Health Care Directive for both my husband and me that was so much better than the existing one we had. He also prepared a grant deed to put our property in the name of our trust and even took care of recording it for us. At our first appointment, he spent the time we needed to explain everything to us. He was patient with all of the questions we had and never made us feel rushed. When we had changes we wanted to make after our appointment, he was so accomodating and told us it was fine because he wanted our estate plan to be perfect for us. He had our entire estate plan completed in one week and we didn't even ask him to rush. His assistant was so very helpful and sweet.
