If you're looking for a competent, responsive and responsible lawyer, look elsewhere. I hired Maria to handle my divorce case and things seemed to be moving along fine. However, one day out of the blue, my ex decided to agree to a settlement. As a result, I immediately reached out to Maria to inform her of the good news only to receive an out of office email response informing me that she would be out for two months due to maternity leave. Prior to the automated response, she had not informed me of this leave of absence which ultimately caused a 3 month delay in my settlement being handled. Worst of all, she had no backup plan or attorneys ready to jump in and fill in for her during her leave. She had an incompetent paralegal, Renee Soto-Johnson, working my case. Renee was rude on every phone call speaking over me, cutting me off and worst of all, had no idea what the status of my case was and wasted time and money filling out unnecessary paperwork. Because of Maria's lack of communication, poor planning, managerial skills and incompetent staff, a matter that could have been resolved in 1-2 weeks after agreeing to a settlement ended up taking 3 months; ultimately costing me tens of thousands of dollars as a result. Save yourself the trouble, headache and money by working finding and working with a competent attorney who respects you and your time. Unfortunately AVVO does not allow 0 star ratings. Notice that she only has a handful of good reviews here dating a few years back. Look her up on other sites and you'll soon see a pattern of her incompetence and lack of responsiveness in reviews from others. Avoid Maria and her law firm at all costs.

The stellar reviews given to Sam Geller are spot on. If hiring the best defense attorney is important to you then Sam Geller is your guy. I spoke with Mr Geller on the 19th of December concerning someone who was in desperate need of a good and competent criminal defense lawyer. Money was not a huge concern because James (not his real name) is getting on in years, has medical concerns and just would not do well in a jail setting. After leaving him a message the night before, I received a text from Sam at 0700 stating that he would be available to talk at 0900. Because I was at work, I couldn't take his call but as soon as I was able, I returned his call and Sam answered immediately. I was so relieved. Sam laid it all out for me, was quite informative and thorough and gave me a sense of peace knowing that we had found the right person for the job. As it turned out, the charges were dismissed and I quickly called him back to give him the news. I will say this. Had we all needed his services, I would have paid his flat fee knowing that James was in excellent hands. Hire Sam Geller! There is a reason he is one of the few top rated criminal defense lawyers.

Sam Geller is definitely worth every penny for the potential outcome we would’ve had for my spouses driving record would’ve been ruin even would’ve leaded to bigger problem with possible criminal record for reckless driving, is what could’ve happen if we hadn’t gotten in contact with Mr. Geller. He gave his full attention to our case as well as giving us the ability to trust in him fully without needing to be present or take time off work to deal with whole legal process. Once we got rid of whole ordeal, we unexpectedly ran into another issue with the dmv as was promised even after the case was done over with he still did his part helped us solve this issue and again he prevent another bad outcome.
