We are very thankful that we had Sabrina on our side. Not only is she great at what she does, but she also walked us through the entire process. She is the fighter you want in your corner. I would never go through another IEP without someone on our side and Sabrina is the person we would turn to. If the time comes, we would want to work with her again. We have and will continue to recommend her because at the end of the day she was the key to making sure our child was put in a position to feel success in school.

Attorney Vincent Wood is a hard working lawyer who is constantly available and has great working hours. He is quite professional and is very educated within bankruptcy, definitely a lawyer I would recommend.

I am an attorney and Sabrina was referred to me by a number of attorneys. While I (knock on wood) do not need to retain Sabrina yet, I will in the event that we need to hire attorney. She took the time to walk me through my son's current IEP process, provided me with a thoughtful strategy/next steps and she promptly gave me several referrals for advocates that could also be of assistance. She truly is knowledgeable and is an incredible resource in this field and I will not hesitate to hire her if we reach the point where we need to involve an attorney in the process.

I am an attorney but special education law is truly a specialized field. We have been trying to get my children and nephew services since kindergarten. The oldest is now in 5th grade. We first hired Sabrina for my nephew and have now hired her for three children. She worked hard and fought to get everything each of our children need to learn in their unique way. I know we would not have been successful in getting our children the services they need without Sabrina. Sabrina is compassionate. She always seeks to work together with the school to get what each child needs but will fiercely battle with the district to ensure the child’s needs are met. She is knowledgeable, adept, skillful, passionate, and dedicated. Even though she’s is in the Walnut Creek area and I’m in the Central Valley, there is no one else I would call.

Caveat: have not retained Ms.Axt at this time, so the review speaks to the interaction we did have. My wife consulted with Ms. Axt, and came away from that conversation buoyed & more confident, armed with pointed questions and firm reassurances. Today, we had another meeting with the school… and their compliance was total. Ms Axt contacted us to follow up, and I was able to speak with her directly. Sabrina’s first practice is to find delight in the unusual, even when surprised - which makes her a great person to speak for those who don’t necessarily fit in, we think. She is highly observant, flexible thinker, and emotionally conscious - not many lawyers seem to be invested in the feelings of the people they represent, much less someone they give quick advice to, yet Sabrina Axt clearly enjoys helping people have happier lives. If you're working with a school that keeps telling your kid to do more instead of meeting them where they are and building from there, set up a consultation with Sabrina. Her intricate understanding of the ins and outs of special education law empowered us to show up to my daughter's IEP with new knowledge and confidence. The school now understands that I know what they are required by law to do. The wanted to start with everything as normal and inch their way down from there to meet my kid where she is, which is a waste of precious time and not healthy for my child, as she felt completely defeated and hopeless when she kept not being able to meet their benchmarks. After writing an email informing the school that I had met with a special education attorney and advocate, requesting a specific test that Sabrina recommended, and making it clear I wouldn't hesitate to engage her services further if required, they changed their approach completely. After yesterday's IEP, we now have a workable plan that my daughter is, for the very first time, excited to try! I couldn't be more grateful. Sabrina is also incredibly supportive and understanding. I was meeting her over zoom at my work and we had a gas leak part way through and had to evacuate. She emailed immediately to reschedule, and when we talked again a couple of days later, she had been thinking about my case and had even more suggestions. She even talked with me well beyond the 15 minutes we had left on our session from last time. My husband also reached out to her to ask a question, and she called back promptly. It happened to be after our IEP meeting so he got to share the good news. She was thrilled and shared in our celebration. Sabrina genuinely cares about what parents and neurodivergent kids experience and wants to help us get the best for our children. Calling her was the best decision I have made in this process. I just wish I had done it much sooner.
