After I was arrested for a DUI, I found Thomas Fleming and retained him. I was in need of a top-notch DUI lawyer. He delivered in every way. He got my DUI case in court dismissed. We went to trial with DMV, and I was found not guilty. From the very first consultation, he was incredibly professional, knowledgeable, and genuinely cared about my case. He patiently walked me through every step of the process, explaining my options and what to expect. Thomas was always responsive and made me feel confident during an incredibly stressful time. If you’re looking for a lawyer who genuinely cares for each of his clients and will fight for the best possible outcome, Thomas is the one you want on your side.

All I can say is amen and thank you God. Last year I found myself in an unfortunate circumstance a drunk driver hit me on cinco de mayo weekend and kept going. I did not flee the scene, however I found myself in jail because I had been drinking. This was one of the most scariest times of my life what happens next how is this going to affect me forever. I began looking around for lawyers and found Thomas. I read his reviews and his website. It seemed like a great fit especially because his faith is so strong that he helped me understand that this can be apart of my testimony and doesn’t have to be the end. Our first court date they offered me a plea of guilty of DUI and Thomas advocated for me to have more time to show and prove that this was a mistake that I am taking seriously. As time went on of fighting this DUI case I realized that it can only work if you are willing to make the necessary changes. There is homework required of you it sounds like a lot but you are looking for that miracle from God so work is required. I found myself in back to back AA meetings, IOP, DUI classes, his RCIA classes and volunteering what mattered to me is that I learn something not only for myself, but how it affects others. We went back to court I was more confident this time on what is in God’s will will be. That time of taking those classes my spirit had been transformed to understanding how to make better choices and better decisions. It happened! I was granted my miracle my case went from being charged with a DUI to the DUI being dismissed and changed to a wet and wreck-less. Thank God. God sends us people in our life who will help us grow and learn. Thomas is the lawyer to make this test you are facing your testimony. I highly recommend.

based off these reviews it seems like he just takes DUI cases. I was waiting hours for a call back that he promised made me explain the entire situation into specific details, The time that he said he was going to call me back past and I texted him asking I didn’t get the call then he stated that he will not be taking my case. I think this is very unprofessional To have someone in a very Vulnerable moment explain in detail what the situation is and then to miss a callback instead of letting me know that he cannot take the case he just had me waiting.

One year ago I was arrested for DUI while speeding at 93 miles an hour. It was one of the most terrible mistakes I had made, feeling completely ashamed, scared and lost. I thought that terrible decision completely ruined a career that I love. I contacted Mr. Fleming who not only provides great legal guidance but cares so much for his clients that he even encourages his clients to elevate and grow as a person by reconnecting with a Higher power. This can bring a lot of blessing to someone like me. And it did bring a lot of blessing! He and his legal team were so effective and compassionate. He got the prosecutor and the court to dimiss my DUI charges. I only admitted to a dry reckless (not wet reckless) for speeding. I received no punishment, only be good for 1 year and pay a small speeding fine. Then even the dry reckless driving will be expunged in 1 year. But DMV can suspend my license for the DUI. They act separately from the court. So Mr Fleming retained an expert forensic toxicologist in my case and we had a DMV trial. Based on the expert testimony, DMV also found me not guilty! My license was not suspended, which was essential for my job. I am super impressed with Mr. Fleming and his handling of my case. The case is done but I continue to stay in touch with him and his wife. I never thought that having a lawyer would lead to such wonderful things!

John is by far one of the most trusted attorneys I've worked with both professionally and personally. He walked us through each phase of our Will and Estate Planning and personally delivered our final documents to go over each and every step so my wife and I understood.

I just had a single interaction with this firm with an inquiry. They reponded pretty quickly. Although they could not take my case but answered to my email with proper advice and reference. My review is based on that single interaction but I felt really good about it.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Five Star Law Firm Marshall law firm is the best. I want to thank him again. I don't think his clients are just another case to him. When I read his demand letter I had to thank him for listening to me. He not only represented me throughout the matter. He was available to answer questions I had along the way. I'm grateful that Chuck Marshall is on my side. My matter was settled before the real damage was done. I purchased a BMW Thinking they would use my capital one. “ Never do what I did, That is leaving with the car without ever seeing the contract”. Until Chuck Marshall represented me the dealership treated me and this matter like a joke. THANK YOU CHUCK MARSHALL

Six months ago, one of my children was arrested, and the charges were very serious. We immediately contacted Mr. Burak, who was incredibly supportive, and caring. During this difficult time, Mr. Burak always made sure that we were understanding what was going on with our child, as we had never been through anything like this before. He never ignored our questions, (we had many) and he was always open to listening to anything we had to say regarding our child's case. Mr. Burak's knowledge of the law is very reassuring to a parent (or anyone) who is seeking his help. On the several occasions that we had to attend Court, we noticed that Mr. Burak is very well respected, amongst his peers and other officers of the Court. We were so grateful that he was by our Child's side, and very much appreciate everything he has done, not only for our Child, but for us as well. Had we not hired Mr. Burak, our Child's future would have been destroyed. I can only imagine how things might have been, however, our child has a second chance, and that is because of Mr. Burak. We will never be able to thank him enough. He saved our Child's life.

I hired Blackie to represent me for my second DUI offense. I immediately felt calm after speaking with him on the phone. He only said what was necessary and was very clear. He took care of everything. In court it was obvious that Blackie is well known and respected. If you're looking for a professional that is well known in the field and will get things done, he's your guy. Just do what he says and you'll be fine! Take a deep breath and know it will all be taken care of! Call Blackie, you won't regret it!!

Blackie defended me in a DUI case, which ended in a mistrial. We went back to trial a year later and Blackie convinced the DA and judge to dismiss the charges, and I was exonerated. Blackie is a hardworking and honest lawyer, and his wife Jane is understanding, caring and a pleasure to work with. I did quite a bit of research before retaining Blackie and also recently sat on a jury for another DUI trial. Put simply, I don't believe there is a better DUI legal team out there. All the other lawyers I talked to recommended I plead guilty. I'm glad I didn't listen to them and retained Blackie instead.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Walnut Creek, California?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
