I decided to hire a civil attorney after I was assaulted with injuries, and surgeons said my prognosis included two corrective surgeries and at least 12 months of physical therapy. I spoke to other attorneys about the issues and was given votes of little confidence to “win” or have success in the case. When I talked to Mr. Howell explaining my situation, he responded with several possible scenarios to help me acquire a monetary judgment from the person, who was also facing criminal charges. Mr. Howell was positive, not negative in his outlook, although explaining risks. Of course, I wanted this “offender” who had hurt me to pay. Mr. Howell was clear in his position that his job was not to levy punitive damages but to monetarily recompense me for the physical injuries, pain, and expenses associated with the recuperation. In addition, as a victim, one wants to feel support for alleviating the mental anguish as well. Mr. Howell listened. He told me of others he represented in some major injury cases including train derailments and vehicular accidents. His thoughtful, deliberate speech showed me he was an organized thinker. In all of our conversations, (and since I brought him this case during the COVID pandemic we never met in person), he demonstrated an elevated understanding and broad scope of the law; and through his inquiries of the assault, he understood what I was going through. He used all the information he gathered about the perpetrator in order to attain a settlement that we agreed was the best possible conclusion for my case. In sum, Mr. Howell was a success because he: Was knowledgeable of the application of laws to my situation. Was an excellent negotiator. Was responsive to my questions. Was a wonderful listener. Was in constant communication. Was knowledgeable of administrative standards and used state-of-the-art digital documentation. Was thorough in giving examples of similar cases and their final determination. Was patient in explaining his plan. Was clear in his written contract. Was trustworthy in his business practices including accounting and confidentiality. Was prompt in sending the financial settlement. With surety, I can recommend Jonathan Howell, Esq. ⚖️ Satisfied!
