I have hired several attorneys in Colorado over the past ten years with a high conflict divorce and parenting case and Louisa Schlieben was the best attorney I've had. Louisa is very sharp and articulate and did an exceptional job describing my side of the case in written motions and in mediation. Louisa also vigorously advocated on my behalf; I’ve never had an attorney I felt cared about my interests so much, or who did it in such a detailed, careful way. I got a great outcome in my case, but whatever the outcome might have been, I felt like I had excellent representation.

She initially seemed to be very competent and hardworking. Very quickly, it turned out she hardly communicates (in spite of solicitation and requests for updates), misses court deadlines without any communication, and she is very slow in spite of agreements on timelines. Her bills, however, are (obviously) never late. I terminated her contract because she added stress and uncertainty to my life in a moment in which she was instead expected to relieve them. Extremely disappointing.

Ms Schlieben did a very professional, knowledgeable, and thorough job as my attorney in my divorce case. Ms. Schlieben took the time to explain the law to me in person, over the phone, email, or text regarding my case when ever I had questions in order for me to understand why things were the way they were. I would recommend Ms. Schlieben to anyone looking for an attorney regarding divorce.

She's straight and to the point. She's hard core and knows her stuff!! She knows the laws very well and what the judge deems evidence and not. She doesn't waste time and simply got the job done. My child is free from emotional abuse now. I would never want to be on the other side of this lawyer during cross examination. She's the real deal!!

It was so great to have Louisa help me file for a protection order. She was already at the courthouse when I arrived at our scheduled time, which was so comforting, considering I had never been there before and didn't really know where to go or what I was doing. She was prepared and knowledgeable, down to the pen that I forgot to bring to fill out the necessary paperwork. Louisa's expertise and confidence, along with her calm and collected demeanor were so helpful during the process, which helped ease my anxiety and stress after a traumatic event. We got the paperwork filled out in a timely manner, allowing us to be second on the docket, in what could have been an event that lasted a few hours that Monday morning. When we got into the courtroom and the judge called my name, she displayed a level of confidence as my advisor that I was unable to provide myself, which was great considering my inexperience and ignorance of the process. Acquiring a restraining order was something new for me and I can't express how grateful I am to have had Ms. Schlieben there!

Ms. Schlieben was my colleague in the past and she was great to work with. She was not only reliable, but she went above and beyond for her clients to make deadlines and keep all parties informed. She also has a deep dedication to criminal defense, and is extremely compassionate about her clients and doing what she can ensure that her clients are zealously represented by a knowledgeable and hard-working defense lawyer. She is a skilled trial lawyer, and has a remarkable courtroom presence. She is also not afraid to stand her ground against opposing counsel, in her own fight for justice and fairness.

I always thought I could defend myself in court, but I realized I was in over my head after attending a pre-trial hearing, so I retained Louisa's services. I had ideas on the direction my defense should take, but what won the case was Louisa's ability to know the weakest points in a case and then drive those points home during the trial until the Judge had no other choice but to find me not guilty. During this time, I was traveling internationally for work, so we were communicating via email for months, and she was always extremely communicative and responsive. Louisa will always be my first choice should I ever need a defense attorney again.
