Pros
1
Effective and successful in collecting on delinquent accounts
“Within a week, he succeeded in getting a check from my customer. Based upon the quick results, I have given hi”
2
Responsive and communicative throughout the collections process
“Kenneth G. at Tucker Albin has been working this complicated case for us and immediately had the responsible party communicating. We have yet to collect, but Kenneth provides periodic updates (by phone!), and every time he calls, things look more promising.”
3
Knowledgeable and professional staff
“Matthew is extremely professional and quick to respond to any question I have. I would highly recommend his services.”
4
Able to collect on accounts considered uncollectible
“Heidi Patton has done tremendous work for our company, collecting funds which had been stale or uncollectable from other firms.”
Cons
1
Aggressive and pushy sales tactics
“Incredibly rude man just called my workplace in Canada, lied to me about why he was calling and then refused to answer any of my questions.”
2
Lack of transparency and honesty in some cases
“He just pushed to have it signed. I said something about the check date when it arrived the next day and was told that since I signed the paperwork I owed them. I am so frustrated with myself for ever involving Brian or his company when I did all of the work and just got tired and gave up in time for them to make 1 freaking phone call.”
3
Inconsistent quality of service across different representatives
“The associate I work with is Aaron Haase. He has been very good and has kept me up to date with all accounts we have sent him for collection. So far, he has collected 3 accounts, one of which was 6 months old, the other two were over a year old. I did not think they could collected but Aaron proved me wrong.”

I was unfortunately rear-ended this past summer. It was just my second accident ever and my first one in over 10 years, so I wanted to find the best possible team to guide and help me through this process. I couldn't have picked a better team. Jason, my Case Manager, was simply amazing. We stayed in communication throughout the entire process, and this review is the least I can do for him and the entire Denver Personal Injury Lawyers team. Thank you so very much!

Denver Personal Injury Lawyers are the GREATEST LAW FIRM IN COLORADO. I don’t care who else you put on the table. The team here got me PAID, with all capital letters yes. Phone call? Answered. Question? Answered. Problems? SOLVED. I won’t lie, I was nervous at first because the process seemed so extensive but oh my goodness it was worth it. Sean McQuaid is GOATED. Look no further. I’m serious.

I was in a bad car accident and was recommended Denver Personal Injury Lawyers through a family friend. Sean was an amazing lawyer to work with. From our first meeting, he explained everything to me in terms I could easily understand and was always very responsive when I had questions outside of our meetings. If anyone is looking for a knowledgeable attorney office I would highly recommend.

My father's case wasn't being taken care of by the previous lawyer, so my friend referred me to contact Timur. Timur took action on the case immediately, since there was not much time left within the CO statues. He only had few months to work on the case. He always informed me of every response from insurance company and as far as his actions being taken on the case. I really liked working with TImur. He is very responsible, easy to communicate with and explains very well the details of the case and/or situtaion. I would highly recommend him as an attorney. He is a professional and knows what he is doing.

Nathan is a great lawyer, got me acquitted of false charges. We took it to jury trial and he was great. If I ever needed a lawyer again I would use him again no problem.

Nate was able to work with me on a payment plan. He was also able to get my charge changed to a lesser charger, and deferred. He is very knowledgeable and I would recommend him for criminal defense. He was always prompt to responding to emails and made the stress of dealing with the legal system much easier.

  2. How do you charge for your services, and what are the estimated costs?
Understand the fee structure, including hourly rates, flat fees, retainer fees, and any additional expenses.
  3. Who will be handling my case?
Find out if the lawyer will handle your case personally or delegate tasks to other attorneys or paralegals.
  4. What is your approach to resolving cases like mine?
Learn about their strategy, whether they prefer negotiation, mediation, or litigation.
  5. What potential outcomes can I expect?
While no lawyer can guarantee results, they can provide an assessment of possible scenarios based on their experience.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Aurora, Colorado?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
