I worked with Steve for roughly six months two years ago during my divorce. I found him to be very intelligent and open to discussing how to best approach decisions we had to make. He was very knowledgeable about the divorce process and did an outstanding job of guiding me through this difficult time. He told me the reality of what to expect in a settlement, and not what I wanted to hear, which I felt was invaluable. I truly enjoyed working with him in spite of the issue we were dealing with.
Having been in business for many years I have worked with many attorneys in the past most of them in Boston. Steve is one of the best I have ever worked with in all respects. I can recommend him highly. I have also worked with several other people at Dietze and Davis found them to be equally competent and a pleasure to work with.

Throughout the process, I didn't know what to expect. I didn't feel like I was advised as well as the opposing party in preparation & answering financials. All along the way, I tried to establish expectations as to cost and the best legal options considering my budget, but I never felt like my questions were answered. Steve would likely be a fine attorney if money was no object but unless you are ready to spend tens of thousands on fees to get divorced I suggest hiring a less expensive lawyer that you can afford to actually use.

I would not hesitate to recommend Steve as an attorney. His work on my case demonstrated clear-headed thinking, vast understanding of the intricacies of the legal system with regard to divorce / family law and a great ability to keep the real-world impacts of legal outcomes at the forefront of the conversation at all times. In my layman's opinion he is an exceptional attorney. I was lucky to have him in my corner through a difficult and taxing process

Steve's capacity to juggle service to his community, personalized attention to client needs, and family life is remarkable. He is highly knowledgeable about his practice area, divorce and family law, and utilizes that expertise to skillfully guide people through difficult times and legal challenges. Steve is a colleague to whom I have consistently and confidently referred individuals and I look forward to the next opportunity to do so.

Steve is an extremely knowledgeable, trustworthy and creative family law practioner who gives his clients honest assessments and practical strategies for their cases. He is a zealous, but realistic, advocate which is particularly helpful in domestic cases where there can be such strong emotions as part of the case. He communicates well about status and responds quickly and helpfully to questions or concerns. He staffs his cases appropriately and accurately represents anticipated costs. His billing rate and practices are fair.
The bottom line is that I can (and often do) recommend Steve wholeheartedly.

Steve made me feel comfortable from the very first interview. This is an event in one's life that you NEVER want to go through. I felt shame and despair. But Steve and his staff understood and were compasionate throughout the entire process.
The opposing attorney took many routes that were confusing and frustrating and Steve was there to force the opposing attorney back on course each time.
I have recommended Steve to others already.
Even after the divorce is final, Steve checks in on me to make sure that my former husband is following through on what he was supposed to do as layed out in the separation agreement. And believe me, it is needed in this case!!!
I was very appreciative of Steve's committment to my case.

I believe you need a lawyer that fits your circumstances. In my case, I needed a bulldog attorney to deal with difficulties associated with my ex's mental illness, potential removal of minors, and overall greed. Steve is a very good bulldog who is persistent but doesn't unnecessarily escalate conflict.
